Hello FTA friends

Well I can give a quick overview of what I know, before N3 I was doing very well with my CW700s loved em and they worked like a charm, bin files easy to install....now however being without anything FTA for over a year, I am considering trying again but I need some guidence please. This will all be new for me I have 0 experience with IKS.

Probably help If I give a quick over view of my configuration. My internet is high speed cable modem (motorola) which feeds my netgear router. One line goes to the computer from the router and the other plugs into a fairly new device for me. It is a netgear ethernet plug. one plugs into the router and electrical outlet close to the computer and router. The other one plugs into the electrical outlet behind my TV and Xbox360. Basically eliminates any wiring and turns any electrical outlet in the house into an ethernet port. It works fantastic with my xbox for online play. Now there is one other ethernet port available and I can plug that into an FTA receiver. So I guess my million dollar question is which box (up to 300$) would you suggest to use with this config and works best with cable internet?

I was in the same boat as you 2mos ago,Since then I have found IKS to be very different than what I was used to w/stand alone Sonicview and Extremeview,In my opinion Only,I think Limesat Ultra pvr is going good with Satzen Z300 being my #2 choice,They are currently up on both providers on public.If you go private there are many options available to you,This is Just My opinion.

Thank you for the quick reply, I am VERY green when it comes to IKS, I don't know what the difference between public and private is? Is there an advantage or disadvantage to either?

well my friend if you want to use the captive works you only have to buy a dongle and join one of this private servers for a small fee or you can just get one of the suggested receivers the limesat is the best and you can get dish and bev on public server and then is the satzen300 or the newer the satzen500 with ilink would be my 3 choice so what ever you decide my friend if you can afford paying 250 bucks i would go with the limesat,so good luck my friend on your choice....

Well thank you for the suggestions, I really appreciate it. So let me ask you, using the CW700s with a dongle (can you elaborate a little on the dongle or suggest a good area to read about them) would that be like trying to add a turbo to an old engine, or are they fairly reliable? Like I mentioned earlier I am really somewhat in the dark, I wouldn't even know how to find a private server?

well my friend what you can do is google captiveworks dongle info, there you,ll find the dongle for 700 and 800 but what you should do first is email nfps and find out which is the dongle that they use to support the captiveworks 700 and 800,s and also ask them about the membership i think is 30 bucks a year now and they also support the captiveworks receivers and then just google captiveworks dongle info,so good luck my friend and this way you,ll be up in no time.....
