I’m a new here and did lots and lots of reading last night. I picked up a Dish net Phase III. (AKA the 1000.2, I think. ) and a Dish net 500 with a heater all new for $4.99 cents at a thrift store. Both came new in the box with the feed horns brackets etc. no dish receivers though. I guess I need the Switch and some receivers.

I’m thinking of doing the dish network set up mentioned on the site with the dish network phase III and the 500 dish for FTA.
My question is. Are the satellites still available for FTA? 110W, 61W, 119, I think 101 was mentioned also in the set up . Could I still get the FTA channels on these satellites with this new encryption? Or are the FTA’s on these birds now encrypted also?

What receivers are good for this setup type of setup.

This has to be the best site on the net. I will be getting subscription this weekend.
