Re: Channels to populate EPG
Grasshopper, thanks for the info. I wondered why sometimes the EPG filled in better than others.
With PS 3500SD, which is what I have, when you first turn it on, you can exit to go straight to viewing,(but you'll have no EPG to speak of) or press "ok" to load the EPG. After reading this info, I found that if I put it on one of those channels, turn it off, then turn it back on and press "ok" to load the EPG, it fills in almost completely, where before, it was filling in patches, with big gaps. It doesn't fill in by itself, though, from just leaving it on one of those channels for awhile. Maybe it will on other STB's, though. I guess mine getting to be kind of a dinosaur.
Now that I know this, I can change to one of the listed channels when I turn it off at night, so I can just load EPG when I first turn it on.

Some of my receivers have the feature to download EPG and extended up to 6 days. The one with out this feature, I go to one of those channels and leave it there for awhile (1-2 hours) until it populated to max.

Re: Channels to populate EPG
Q: I paid someone to come in my house hookup he's loptop to my VS2000 topbox and in 5 min i had tv.Now I don't have TV, I can't reach that person, all I get is "autoroll processing" can I learn how to do it myself?
Can I use the remote Control and change some numbers to get reception again? right now I have No Picture & No Sound.
Please Advise, Thank you.

1st - you hijacked my thread, Please open you own thread next time
2nd - try to do hard reboot, turn on your tv and leave it on any channels until pictures comes on. Do not flip the channel back and forth during updates.

Hi GH. I just received and setup my Pansat 3500SD. Here is what I noticed, the EPG still displays "No INformation" on some channels like ACMAX, 5-MAX, all STRZC, some ENCORE, etc and they do not populate after 2 days. I have let it sit for one hour on 200, still it did not populate all EPG's current programs and beyond 2 days.
Any suggestion?
Thanks.

Hi Grasshopper.
I'm still having this "No Information" on most premium channels. Also I do not get more than 2days of EPG on SV4000. I was wondering if I need to turn ON the "stand-by mode EPG" on one of the settings.
Also, do I need to turn ON the "stand-by mode Autoroll" in one of the settings?
Please advice.
Thanks.

Re: Channels to populate EPG
I have the same problem. I'm using an NFusion HD and 72.7w and getting about 336 channels with pretty decent signal (55-60 but it's not an offset dish but a flat square having a prime focus LBN in rear)...Lots of channels are viewable (subject to SUNS server "openess" to n3) but as soon as I'm opening the Guide and trying to manually update the EPG (for 3 days), NFusion says right away "fail". I've checked the signal strength for TP 12516 (the one exposing the EPG services) and it's 60-62. Is the NFusion HD BLINDLY expecting a min. signal strength of something let's say > 65 ? When I was oriented toward 61.5w I never had any issue for about the same signal strength.
Can anyone explain a possible cause? Could it be because this new E6 bird has the EPG also N3 encrypted?
Your help is very much appreciated.
