CNX Mini help please - ABA DSS

Hi all,

I'm confused on some steps... when downloading and saving from a USB. This is what I'm getting so far....

-I've got it on the stick and upzipped.
-I can see the files on the Mini.

-Now do I press the green button on the remote to save files - if so new files are created. With the new files do I do the s/w and all data upgrade then the b/l?

OR - do I just press okay on the files - the screen says upgrade and then do I press s/w and all data upgrade and then b/l.

OR - do I just do s/w and all data upgrade on some and do the b/l on other files???

Have to edit...totally miss read what you said. Load the 3.25 uno file as a boot loader upgrade. No patches needed at the moment.

Do I first have to click on the EPG green button and save the 3.25 file, then click the new file it creates and click the 'ok' button and 'upgrade' as a boot loader?

load the latest factory bin as boot loader.
load the latest bin as s/w
(when needed,but not at this time load the latest patch)
thats for new units.
otherwise simply load latest file as s/w

Really appreciate the help. Just to confirm, when you say load, it is via pushing the 'ok' button for both the factory BIN and latest BIN. (i.e. you never need to use the green EPG button to 'save' the file first before upgrading). Simply via the OK button to upgrade the files to the box? I've gone through the steps, have great signal pointed at BEV 119 on Echo 7 and it just continues to auto roll. (how long on avg is the auto roll needing to go?) Simple set up, with one LNB and manually adjusting dish back and forth from BEV and DN as needed. I just got the box a month ago and had it on DN once working fine but have never had luck getting BEV to work with the ongoing downage. Channels scan in well and I'm using 6.08 factory and 3.25 latest BIN. Seems like all should be well but I'm having no luck. Any thoughts on your diagnosis of my shortfall here? Again, very truly appreciated.

Just make sure the file is unzipped. go to the 3.25 uno file. click on it, push b/l upgrade and it will say usb loading and writing flash. it will reboot itself and its done.

edit- i had this written awhile ago, just forgot to push send. you can load like i said also...will work, watching it right now.

I hate to repeat myself but when you say click on it - there a 2 ways.

1 - the green button on the remote (save data)
2 - the ok button on the remote

by pushing one of these buttons different things pop up. They both have s/w options - but one says 'save' and one says 'upgrade'. If you push the green button a new file appears on the USB. Then do I start all over with the new files and again - which button should I push?

you need to press for upgrade S/W ..it will upgrade your software !!

Thanks guys,
I'm pretty sure I'm properly loaded now as the keys in the key works area matches keys in 'current keys' section. Also, I have let the autoroll go with no success but started to second guess if I was pointed at BEV accurately. I am clearly properly pointed at BEV as I can get a good picture of the interactive Game station. I also can pull in the BEV help channels. Just nothing else. Am I just being impatient for autoroll? How long should it take? Or now is it a case that I have the files loaded but I don't have a setting right? Thanks again for the ongoing support to get this mini up and going.

I am in the same boat as you. See to have all the files loaded followed the directions put out (cnx procedure update jan 11/08 from this aft) but still no success only able to view hd info channel the others show an (s) beside them and if one is selected states scrambled on the screen and auto roll runs forever have waited 10-15 min?? From the procedure update do start by reset of factory defaults? system info shows 3.25 installed!! Any suggestions for the meek and feeble who cant watch tv!!1

Ok its very simple...lol. You should have the 1223 patch already loaded. when your in the menu looking at the files on your usb. Click OK on the 3.25 uno file...not save but OK, you can do either sw or b/l. B/l will reset your box and load the file, so your settings will have to be redone. SW will just upgrade not reset, so try and load the 1223 patch then do the sw load of 3.25. always push ok not save.

new patch made my remote not respond and the box" froze" could only get it to function by disconnecting sat feed and reboot with power switch on back of cnx mini. we had programming from last fix were we went back to 3.17 installed. was good till today installed new patch and mini would not respond. Tried fac default then 6.08 as b/l then 3.30 as s/w upgrade then new patch, channel scan wait for auto roll---- woo hooo!! -go cnx appreciate all the help from the big dogs so far hope this helps someone else
