viewsat ultra flashing quality why???? - ABA DSS

i just got a viewsat ultra we get 89 90 signal but the quality is at 88 but constantly flashes so it wont scan channels or anything why? i replaced a standard dish box that was working fine.

Check the lnb type in the menu under antenna settings. Try changing it to standard or universal. LNB Freq 11250

i have gone thru every setting and its either 0 or flashing.i have a coolsat 7000 ive been doin this almost a year i kinda know the basics but never seen this.

So I take it your problem still isn't solved? If you report back that a particular solution didn't work then others will give you other options to try.

nope stiil flashes could the lnb from a former subscriber to direct not be compatable?

what do you mean by the quality is flashing?
Is it constantly jumping up and down?

did you ever encounter this problem before?

post all your setting s the dish and lnbs you are using and any switches make it easier .. thanks also what sats you are trying to get ..

had problems similar with the 7k and it was the tps there is a how to on which tps to scan for which birds and how to lock the others find that and try it worked great for me 110 is 12224 and 119 is 12239 dont know prefered with bev and also make sure ports are right

Yep Constantly Jumps 84 - 36 Almost Like A Pulse.never Encountered Before. Would Having A Current Subscription To Direct And Just Switching The Boxes W/ A Viewsat Be A Problem? My Settings R All The Same As My Buddys Coolsat Next Door And We Put The Box On Over There And It Worked Fine?but Not On My House.

U may need to check your dish alignment. Had the same problem 1 time and was aimed at the wrong birds.

hi. I have the same problem in a SV4000, was working fine, and after an update bin, it start doing that "flash" in the Quality

That is what causes the "Q" to flash - - wrong sat alignment.
Set up your E 7, do the auto find on that, then set up the E 8
That is once you have the proper sats tuned in. The Viewsat will
tell you which sat you are hitting in the upper right hand corner of
your antenna setup. Good luck.

My friend is having the same problem. I own Sonicviews and don't know much about VS, but I am learning. The only reason I'm helping this guy is because he is handicapped. I noticed in several responses people are asked what their settings are. Could someone please post what they are supposed to be? Or a link to that type of info? We tried doing a search but that yielded not much info. We have tried every setting under the sun with varying results. He is using a triple LNB setup. We did at one time get 110 and 119 seperately but not combined. Now he only gets 110. On 119 we get 80+ sig and quality of 75+. However there is no display in the upper right hand corner, therefore no lock I'm presuming. AND the quality seems to be flashing or oscillating from 0 to 75. We completely changed out dishes from a dual lnb to a triple. These are good lnbs I'm certain. Can somebody just post (or post a link to) the actual settings. Thanks

Final fix: Was trying to receive charlies signal on ****s antenna. Don't know if that was the problem but when switched back to charlies DP dual lnb things worked. Go figure.
