Help Could this work?
Hi there to all and thanks in advance for any help. Here is what I would like to do can anyone tell me if it would work?I have 1 Dish 500 pro Plus and I have a DirectTv Dish that is hooked up and running. I have a Pansat 2800a and a Hughes receiver and only one line of cable coming into the house if I hooked up a diseqc 4 into 1 using the Directtv and Dish Pro into it and could I switch the receivers back and forth when the pansat is down hook back up my Driecttv with out much trouble at all , in short set the Panset for 110 and 119 , and leave the Direct TV the way it is now and not have to run two lines from out side to the one room in the back , Thanks

Re: Help Could this work?
If you have a Dish 500 Plus with the Dual Band LNB and single LNB, you wont be able to use a 4x1 diseqc.

Re: Help Could this work?
Is there a switch of some sort I could hook the two dishes to to use at dif times so i dont have to run 50 ft of cable for the Dish Pro and another 50ft for the DirectTv? I want to use one line of cabe for both dishes and just change out the boxes when needed.

Re: Help Could this work?
not 100% sure it would work but you could try using a 0-22k ecoda switch and put the dtv on the 0 side, i don't think the directv box would have a problem with it. Then on you pansat on the antenna options set the 22k to ON. The hughes receiver will not put out the 22khz tone and should just see the dtv lnb. Your pansat with the 22k on will emmit a tone and switch to the 22k side of the switch. In your case even a generic 0-22k switch should work i just like the ecoda branded ones better. You can get these things for about $9. It will go outside between your two dishes
