help..Lost power during download.

I had just recieved the latest bin file for the VS ULTRA 2000. I was in the middle of loading with the USB port "Do not turn power off." When I lost Electricity. Now that I have the power on my box will not turn on in the front. Is it fried...There wasn't any lightening just a loss of power.

If you have power on to the unit, i.e., the rear switch power is on and the front switch power is on do you have any display?

Is you front display showing "----"?

If so, you are going to want to visit the download section dedicated to the VS Ultra and get yourself a copy of two things:

The Loader for your unit (its a serial communications program)

and the

119 Factory BIN file, since your units a new (manufactured after Oct 2007).

Get these, then come back.

my ultra is dead too, but only after loading new file......i can't do anything......all it does is show "----" on the front........it isn't a clone and i've had it for about 8 months.......i could really use some help with matter.......thanks

Ok, for Goateh, do this:

First off you need to get the following things:

1) A copy of VSU Fail Fix
2) A copy of Loader2
3) Your serial (Null) cable that came with your Unit .

This solution also assumes that your Receiver is UNABLE to read from /or recognize your USB stick.

Ok, here we go:

Install Loader2 on your PC then:

• Connect serial cable (NULL) to PC>STB
• Open up Loader of choice (PVR-Loader 1.1 or Loader2)
• Click on Tool>Configuration>Com port (Default is usualy com 1)
• Click on Open File
• Click on PC>STB (Notice the progression bar in loader)
• Turn the power in the back ON
• Wait for Loader say Completed. Then on box LCD front panel screen say I.N.S.T>END>0000 or until clock count to 0.001

IT IS VERRY IMPORTANT. DO NOT TURN THE POWER OFF TO SOON
• Turn the power OFF in front and power OFF in back
• After downloading the “BIN”, unhook NULL cable from PC>STB
• Connect all the cables to your box/TV
• Turn the power ON in the back and then front
• Press Menu key
• Select Installation and press OK
• Select Antenna Setup and press OK
• Select your Sat.
• Here if you have a Diseqc switch enter the port #, Motor or Legacy SW
• No LNB Type need to select (from new, you have only two selection Standard and Universal). STB will select your LNB Automatic
• Press Exit and select Yes for saving the settings
• Your back to Antenna Setup screen
• Here you have Three choices:
1. Channel Scan
2. Auto Scan
3. Blind Scan
• Select Auto Scan
• Press OK
• You are in the Auto Scan window and you see the Bird(Sat.) you selected and on the top of your screen are three options:
1. Search option
2. Network search
3. Scan Start
• You don’t change nothing here, go down and select Scan Start and press OK
• You do this for all the Birds (Sat.) you have
• Wait for Autoroll and then sit back relax and watch TV !

Thanks alot, i'll let you know if that works. I know i didn't get a null cable though. I'll have to see if i have one kicking around or buy one. It's a 9 pin female for the box and looks like a 15 pin male for my comp.

You usually are supplied with the correct NULL serial cable when you get the receiver.

Yes. But unfortunately i bought it from a buddy who didn't supply me the cable.

if your getting the ---- just load the V131 factory file with the null cable , then the latest bin.
i fixed mine last nite that way. works great.
mine locked up loading it with the memory stick.

go to a computer store and get a rs232 null modem cable
