Re: inline amplifier
You shouldnt need a signal amp (unless you are running over 150' of cable between the LNB and receiver.
Weak signal is a sign of mis-alignment, connection or antenna settings.
Give us a bit more info of your setup....
Dish and LNB type, switch, receiver, antenna settings, what sat are you trying to pickup.

Re: inline amplifier
Compare these settings against yours...
Satellite..............EchoStar 8,10 (110°W)
LNB Power .............ON
LNB Type...............OSC-DP (If you have DP LNB, otherwise set it to STANDARD)
LNB Freq...............11250
22KHz..................OFF
TP Freq................12224
DiESqC 1.0.............Port 2
Motor..................OFF
Legacy SW..............None
Check your signal for improvement, it the signal does not boost, you might need to tweak your dish to get a stronger signal.
Satellite..............Echostar 7 (119°W)
LNB power..............ON
LNB Type...............OSC-DP (If you have DP LNB, otherwise set it to STANDARD)
LNB Freq...............11250
22KHz..................OFF
TP Freq................12239
DiESqC 1.0.............Port 1
Motor..................OFF
Legacy SW..............None

Re: inline amplifier
Check your cable connections too. Sometimes a short can drop your signal levels down. Your disecq switch may also be a problem. Remove the disecq, connect cables directly from LNB to receiver and see what the signal strength is. If you see an improvement, then you have a bad disecq switch.

Re: inline amplifier
Loose connections can cause low signals for sure, glad you go that solved without having to start messing with the dish.
