i own a sonicview 8000 and when i try to download all i get is 279p rar and not the bin.can you tell me what i'm doing wrong?

extract the .rar once more and you'll get the bin.
You can use Winrar, it works with both .zip and .rar files.

Steve, The file you download is compressed like a ZIP file only using WinRAR to make a *.rar file. You need to decompress the file to find the *.bin needed to update the STB. Do a Google search for wrar342.crystal.exe - I don't think I can post a file for you to download here. Jerry

you are welcome dude,
I just checked out the file myself, and I can tell you that the .bin was compressed to .rar and the .rar was compressed to .zip.
Not a big issue, you just need to extract twice, the .zip and the .rar, and you'll end up with the .bin
And the tool that I listed for you in my previous post will do all this.

If you have any further problems just let us know.
