Have Your Attention Here Please
Credit goes to mantrafta for this beautiful post.
C/p.
I want my new bin!
Man have I ever seen this question/demand and "how come it's taking so long" an awful lot in the forums lately.
In fact it gets to the point of being monotonous.
1. Asking for a new file or complaining about a box manufacturer being slow to release a file doesn't speed up the process if there is a reason why the boxes are down. All it really does is infuriate other members and the staff at the forum your at no matter how politely you word the darn thing.
2. There seems to be an attitude that the manufacturers/coders owe you your new fix. Nothing could be farther from the truth folks, legally the manufacturers sold you a box for free FTA and most have a disclaimer about using third party software on it for illegal reasons. So like it or not, whether you feel the manufacturer sold you the box knowing you would load third party software on it or not. The box was sold to you for Free To Air purposes.
Now the coders, did you pay them anything? With this I mean personally, did you put a check or money order in the mail for them?
Now some will argue that the manufacturers are paying them and it comes out of the price of the box.
Really? Well if you bought your box even a year ago, I think your payment via this route has more than been spent already and I think you better get your checkbook out if you think the coders owe you anything.
So lets all quit with the attitude that anybody owes you your third party fix, it just ain't so.
3. We all have been a bit spoiled lately with the quick fixes coming out within hours of an ECM. Well anybody that has been in this a while can tell you that it is not always the case. The reality is that the fixes will most likely get harder now. With the card swap looming in the future most likely they will even get more difficult.
So keep this in mind as you come into a forum, don't come in begging or demanding a fix. Don't come in complaining about a manufacturer or coder group and especially don't if you have had more than a years use of "free tv". In that particular case you have been more than paid back for the price of your box.
OK rant over and apologies to staff and members, but not bin beggers.

Well, I am a newbie and first of all when I was reading through your posts I noticed in no time that there are a lot of member that are demanding codes and fixes. I also noticed by reading these posts, which are very exelant and very informative, that these codes are not manufactured by the staff members of this forum.
You gentlemen and not to forget the laddies have a good thing going at this forum and should not be disapointed by some of negativly minded and demanding members.
Why should I complaint about getting good info, even if it may take some time to be posted?
Thank you all, good job.
