Re: help starting Fortec Star Mercury II

after having th dish pointing at desired satellite, go to the menu and select antenna/Dish installation. Then choose 'echostar 129w (making sure all connections are right and you have precisely positioned the dish) the satellite meter at the bottom should be higher then 31 for strength and1-4 for quality. If the strength is higher than 31 but there is no quality that means you have found a satellite with similar transponders but not the right satellite... once you have got the quality bar moving, slowly move the dish left and right until you have found the peak quality. having done that you can loosen the lnb holder and slightly skew/turn the lnb until you reach peak quality... If you still cant achieve any quality or strength check that the wiring and the f -connectors have been installed properly.(I recommend that you chop a little bit of the coax cable of both ends and re-connect the f-connectors.......HOPE YOU HAVE FOUND MY KNOWLEDGE HELPFUL AND WISH TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR SUCCESS..IF still struggling you can look at the Als*t forum and seek help there as i have done in the past.
