dp34
hey guys quick question...
i have a dish 500 that is a subscription dn dish. i have a multi switch, the dp34. can i hook both cables from the dish into the switch and then propperly view my dn programming on my dn reciever and also my cw800. right now i have one cable from the dish running into my dn reciever and one to my cw800. i have to go into antenna settings on my cw800 to change form 110 to 119 and i dont want to have to do that. my parents dont want more dishes on the house so i was wondering if this is a possibility?

Re: dp34
since you have a dual lnb you should be able to hook up both receivers to the dish and get seperate programming. you should not have to change the cw back and forth between sats. in your current config you dont need a switch. can you tell me the settings on the cw?

Re: dp34
Yeah ....see when we hooked up this dish, the subbed dish, we probably did about 5-10 years ago i believe... i dont know how we have hte lnbs hooked up. i have been hooking up dishes for friends the last couple of weeks and i use the disecq switches and its beatiful just switching channels and having everything come on and not having to change sats... i dont know how we have the cables coming out of the lnbs. i know on all the spare lnbs and dishes i have in my garage, dpplus, they have 2 outputs on the left lnb and one and the right. is it possible we could have hooked it up with one from the left and one from the right? and if that is the case could i only be recieving one sat at a time.. i have it set up for 110 disecq none and 119 none. if i put it on lnb 1 i get q and s. if i put it on 2 i get 0 for q and 01 for s.

Re: dp34
if its a dp-500 than 119 is on port 1 and 110 on port 2.
it you have a switch in the middle, than it depends how you hooked up the switch.
if you get both 119 and 110 on your subbed box with 1 coax you have the switch built in the lnb, in that case , use the above.

Re: dp34
no what im saying is that if you have 1 wire going to your subbed box and get both sats than if you run the other wire to your fta receiver you should get both too.
so if you do, put in your antenna settings 119 on port 1 and 110 on port 2.
