How many LNBs are too many?

say i have a 36-39 inch dish and want to put multiple LNBs on it.....how many are too many??.....or is there such a thing as too many??.....will they start to interfere with each other signals??.....could i put 6-8 LNBs on a dish this big, with a couple of those adjustable brackets?

That would be rather tricky. Let's say that too many is one more than you need...

they will not interfere with one another except if they are hitting each other to get in the focal point or sweet spot.A good rule of thumb is 40 degrees on a dish that size.You should be able to cover say 80-120 with good quality on all unless they would hit.There are special mounts for such problems.If you could tell us what all you are wanting to catch it would help. I can catch 91-129 on an eliptical 24 incher.However the 129 signal is very weak.The 91,110,119 is good enough but in the worst of downpours.I have seen six lnbs on a modded primestar , or channel master dish.I believe it was 82,91,101,110 ,118.8-119, and 129.That is almost 50 degrees of arc.I am not sure of the quality level they get.You can see my setup in the photo gallery on the forum.There are also lots of other good pics about dishes.Of course the t-90 can get alot more and at a better quality than the above.The t-90 is a toroidal and can handle eight lnbs.Here is a picture of it also search toroidal on the forum as arboristman posted some good pics showing some setups.

i currently have an eliptical with 82, 91, 110 and 119.....im buying a larger dish to get 121, 123, and 97.....so im thinking about getting rid of the smaller dish and putting everything on say a 39 inch dish.....i dont really want multiple dishes, but will leave it if i have to

You can hang as many as you can catch...but really you would be better off to just get a motor & a larger dish & the Invacom QPH-031 Quad universal LNB that will get ALL the birds be it Linear or Circular signals.
So much cleaner looking (on your house) and simple to set up.

get a Multi Switch.. there is all kinds of them..

yeah but you cant have multiple recievers on a motorized dish.....what if we both want to watch different birds?

what is the name of that dish in the pic??.....is it available to buy??

right.only 1 stb can control the motor.not the best way to go for multi stbs.
