Direct TV dish
My Bro is looking to get A FTA reciever, He has a DirectTV sat.
Can I just hook him up A box like I did with my DN sat and use echostar 7 and 6,8? Or would I have to turn the Dish or what? Thanks in advance.

Re: Direct TV dish
Sure you can use the dish. All you'll have to do is fine tune it and you should be good.

Re: Direct TV dish
What kind of set up do you have and where are you located. It might be a good idea to use the site search engine and get the sat calculator and all you have to do is enter you zip and it will tell youy were to point. also are you going to try to pick up one or two birds, 7-8. If your dish has only one LNB you will only be able to pick up one sat. I have a dish pro 500 quad and after i aimed it I had to skew it a little to get the second sat.

Re: Direct TV dish
You can do a search for a dual lnb bracket and hit both 119 and 110 DN with the round DTV dish without skew ....
The bracket holds the 119 a bit higher and left ? or is that lower and left ?? I pointed the 110 and got the 19 automatically - on my bracket the 119 is on left of 110

I am using a DirecTV 3 LNB Oval dish with my viewsat ultra and it works fine. Only problem I've had is trying to get more than one SAT at a time. I've tweeked the skew many times but, no joy. It could be something to do with the switch that is built into the 3 LNB head that DirecTV uses. Just use the sat calculator and point the dish for DN or BEV from your location and you should be fine.
Hope this helps.

Re: Direct TV dish
im guessing the dtv dish has a single lnb? if so it should already be pointed at 119, so your good to go for echo 7. If you want 110/119 you will need to get the bracket as posted above.

Re: Direct TV dish
No PPV or only about 4 of them. DN comes from both 119 and 110. So in order to get the whole package without a motor you will need another lnb. DN 119 only has about 4 PPV and 1 VOD, 110 has the majority of PPV channels.
