Lyngsat question
My question is... if you look up say 119W, Echostar 7, it shows a pile of TP's, but roughly half say L and half say R... I am guessing this is Left and Right.
I can guess that, but what does that mean? I'm picking up all Lefts, no rights... why? Can I rectify this so I can get some Rights?
??? I've tried to look this up, and I can't find actual answers.
Any info would be great. Reply, PM, or email!

Re: Lyngsat question
What are you exactly trying to do ? To see what channels are on that satellite, you go to Echo star 7, and You click on the Box with the [P].

Re: Lyngsat question
left and right means vertical and horizontal. as stated before post what you are trying to do and what you have done.if you are getting all verticals and no horizontals(or vise versa) you may be only scanning one and not both.

Re: Lyngsat question
The transponder frequencies list L and R behind them. I'd like to know why, and if there is a way to pick up the R's.

Re: Lyngsat question
thats just the way lyngsat list them. when you look at your screen you will see a V and a H. left and right is vertical and horizontal. its probably the way they are set up in the lnb's eye Left side of eye and right side of eye and the satellite sends the signal as V and H i think. still don't know what you've done to get one or the other. don't know what box you have or your settings nothing

Re: Lyngsat question
k, sorry. I have a Coolsat 7100, I have 3 LNBs mounted precariously so that I get 91, 110, and 119. I just realized what I'm getting, and that is no locals, I get the Conus channels only. Is that normal?

Left means counter clockwise circular polarization and right means clockwise circular polarization, meaning that the electric and magnetic fields 90 degrees apart while screwing(circular) toward the disk. The receiver software probably uses V and H for linear polarization which is found on many FTA Satellites. Alignment of lnb is somewhat critical on some mounts.Maybe this will help

Re: Lyngsat question
to see if you are getting both scroll thru your channels and see if you are getting a V on one channel and a H on another, channel info is good for that. if on a channel you get a V and on some other channel you see a H then you are getting both Left and Right. you need to find what spot beam you are in for locals and find the tp numbers and see if they are on your sat list or add them and scan them tp's. lyngsat list spot beam number to the right on their list.
