Re: Help! DTV Dish Questions-Slimline
The Slimline has 5-LNBs with integrated combiner/switch for 99-101-103-110-119W sat positions. The 110-119 LNBs seem like a good fit for Charlie, but not completely. Dave uses a signal combiner instead of a switch for those two, so when used for Charlie, some transponders from both sats will be missing. I can tell you which ones if needed.
Just last week I removed the LNBF assembly from my Slimline and installed an obsolete 3-LNB assembly for 110-119-121 from a DN Superdish. The mounting holes are exact fit. I aimed the linear LNB for 121 at G18 123W for 34 FTA channels from the US. The other option is to use the 110-119 positions for DN, but the large dish is a waste for those.
Lastly the Slimline mount and fine adjustment mechanisms are superb. It is made for the precision aiming required for the narrow beam signals of the 18GHz Ka band. I would go out of my way for another Slimline.
