Mount into weak concrete
Hey guys I'm having a problem. Im trying to mount my dish on my chimney smoke out concrete thing on the roof. When I moved in there was a DTV dish mounted on it so I know its possible. I drilled the holes today and tried screwing the screws. But the whole gets bigger and the concrete breaks inside. its some weak concrete. By the time its screwed you can easily take it out because the concrete breaks its weak. What suggestion do you guy have besides mounting somewhere else. How about I hammer those plastic blue things in the hole and then screw?

Re: Mount into weak concrete
The old dish that is setup on the chimney it setup in the middle not the side and its very strong. Is there any special screws for chimney. Because that mount is not compatible with my mount base. my base is larger and has more holes.

Re: Mount into weak concrete
There are metal anchors that you tap into the hole, that accommodate 2" bolts, just make sure you don't mess up the brick structure in your chimney stack.
