Azimuth (magn) 190.5
Zip 37072
SG2100 motor *set on Lat 36 *Elev 54
Dish Bracket angle 24.2

Re: no quality signal up to 74 max
If you go to dishpointer.com they have a section for aiming with a motor. Check there if you have not already and see if you are in the right area. It has a line of sight tool that is very helpful.

Re: no quality signal up to 74 max
here is the easiest way to setup a motor.....i have done many of them including my own....i get 80-100Q basically on everything from 10W-150W.....
run an RG6 cable from the reciever to the motor, then an RG6 cable from the motor to a diseqc switch, then two RG6 cables from the switch to the LNB......one to a circular port and another to a linear port on the LNB......
tighten motor bolts up but leave them slightly loose so the motor can still move on the pole.......dont worry about aiming yet.....
circular line to port one and linear line to port two on the switch.....
now you need to make sure in your Antenna settings that you select the proper port.....when setting up a circular sat you need to select port one......when setting up a linear sat you need to select port two.....
now do a reset on the motor and set to default "0" position......
set the latitude scale on the motor to YOUR latitude.....this should never be changed so tighten it up good......
do a factory default on your reciever first and make sure your wiring is correct the way i just said.....make sure your LNB is mounted straight (90 degrees) in its holder (no skew).....this is important for the linear birds.....
now pick the closest circular sat to you, doesnt have to be directly south just close.....for talk sake on here im going to just say this is 82W.....
now go into the Antenna settings menu for 82W and enter all the proper info.....now select USALS in the motor menu and enter YOUR lat and long digits......now tell the motor to drive to 82W......
now the motor thinks its pointed at 82W so now YOU have to aim it there manually......here is when you go outside to aim the dish.....
when making your horizontal adjustments you swing the motor on the pole with the dish......the dish should always be mounted straight on the motor pole/shaft......
when making vertical adjustments you move the DISH ONLY.....NOT THE MOTOR......
peak the signal for 82W and all the others should come in good.....now the motor is aimed directly south so tighten it up good....you MIGHT have to fine tune the VERTICAL adjustment ONLY (move the DISH ONLY not the motor!!) when aiming at a linear bird.....because linears are weaker.....after you do that on one of them you should be set......
if USALS isnt perfect for all the others just fine tune with your remote and save the position.......
good luck

Re: no quality signal up to 74 max
I am going to go insane trying to figure this out, something has to be deffective... ?
I managed to get a quality signal only twice now and as soon as I did a scan it failed. Then when the screen comes back the strength has dropped and the quality is gone. Also I get a signal on port 3 and 4 of the switch but there is not anything hooked up to those inputs!
This should not be this hard, something has to be wrong, either with the sytem or me.
Dish settings
Satellite =AMC3
LNB Type = Universal
LNB Frequency = 9750/10600
22khz = Auto (greyed out)
LNB Power = On
Transponder = 12180 (tried many)
Search option = ALL
Network Search = ON
DISEqC = Port 1
Motor= Enable
Legacy Switch = Off
ok going to turn the tv off a while now and try to think happy thoughts
thanks to everyone for tying to help me so far, really appreciate it.

yes its obviously user error......
i will try one more time......
DID YOU DO EVERYTHING I SAID IN MY INSTRUCTIONS????????
if you did, you should be aiming at 82W NOT 79W......i suggest you try it and leave 79W alone for now......
you come here asking for advice and then you dont want to take the advice that is given.....why bother asking in the first place if your just going to continue trying it (and failing at it) your own way?
