I was looking for some info on this as I'm not testing a 4000...****ually they are pretty good running receivers.
Sometimes it takes a good couple of minutes for the new bin to kick in after you load it.. I've waited up to 3- 4 mins for it to kick in sometimes on other receivers..if it was working ok before you loaded the newest bin it should be fine..maybe do a factory default, reload factory file and then new file again. remeber to write down settings before factory default..
maybe someone who is testing one of these thats had the same problem will read this and jump in. hang tight..

Re: sonic view 4000
Make sure you have the newest bin installed.
Then go to the menu, dish setup.
Pick a sat, which ever one your dish is pointing at, 110 or 119 usually.
set your diseqc for that sat, 110 is usually port1, 119 is usually port2.
Then scan sat, don't do a blind scan.
Then save when it asks you to and see if that works.
Just repeat for multiple sats.
If that doesn't work, then post more information about your setup, dishes, lnbs, switches and settings in your stb.

Re: sonic view 4000
Ok, you need to update your main software to V0251p, and then it should work.

Re: sonic view 4000
Ok, you still have two main problems here.
1. You are not getting the software loaded because it should say 251 in the version if it was really loaded, not 250.
2. You said when you scan for channels, you get channels but they are like echo..., well that means that you are scanning the wrong sat, you must be selecting the wrong sat from the list when scanning, your dish is pointing at echostar8(110) or echostar7(119) and you are scanning with amc4 or galaxy10 or something that is wrong, so you need to choose the sat from the list that matches the sat that your dish is pointing at.
Here is a link to a setup guide for sv4000, read it, see if it helps:
