Nimiq 1,3 and 2 on Dish 1000.2

I have a Dish 1000.2 with a Viewsat Ultra. I can pick up 110, 119, 129 and 148 with no problems. Trying the other day to see what else I could pick up and Nimiq 1,3 and 2 come in with good signal and quality. Do an auto scan and it comes up with about 200+ channels. Try and watch and it just says autoroll in progress. What am I doing wrong?

yes you would have to realign the dish. go to the web site dishpointer.com Put in your address and what sat you are trying to get and the type of dish or lnb's you are using, and it will show you the direction to realign the dish too.

GO to the web site dishpointer.com put in your information house address, dish type, and whatever Satellite you want to pick up and it will show you the direction you should be pointing too. Some of the sats have the same transponder number so it gives you a false sense. That make it appear like you are getting that satellite but if you did a channel scan you will not pick up NOTHING.

Re: Nimiq 1,3 and 2 on Dish 1000.2

First of all, what kind of switch are you using, you will need a switch that picks up and has inputs for 5 or more sats, and 5 or more sats on a 1000.2 is really tough,if not impossible, you are getting 4 on one dish you are doing very well, your best bet would be to get another dish 500 for nimiq and a switch that picks up like a zinwell 6 or 8.Since you don't tell us what switch or lnbs your using its hard for us to pinpoint the problem.I am guessing you are using a disecq 4x1 or a dp 44.

Re: Nimiq 1,3 and 2 on Dish 1000.2

Not using any switch or power inserter. I am using just my Viewsat Ultra wired directly to a Dish 1000.2 and the standard DP 3 LNB into port 1. Like I said I can pick up 119, 110, 129 and 148. Just recently I just started to pick up 121. So its no big deal if I can't pick up any Nimiqs but I was just bored and going through my setup.

Re: Nimiq 1,3 and 2 on Dish 1000.2

You are using a dish pro plus twin, you can only get 2 sats at a time with this unless you run another dish from the 3rd port.OK I see what your doing now.Good luck, you would have to re-align everything then to pick up 2 sats at a time, with that dish and some modifications and a 4x1 switch you could easily get 110-119-82-91 on one dish, but I don't want to confuse you right now.Yeah you are getting ghosting signals then, you are actually only getting 110-119 right now, good luck, you will not get more than 2 sats wired directly into the ultra, have fun.

Re: Nimiq 1,3 and 2 on Dish 1000.2

Well if I am getting ghosting then why can I scan and see different channels. At first that was what I thought too so I setup one sat at a time, and same thing I can see 4 sats.
