Does this mean that if you had a 39" dish but instead of a motor you have a magic bracket lnb holder, getting the true fta birds would not be possible? Also since beverly switched her locks, i see lots of recommendations to switch to 110 and 119. I'd like to know why not 129? Has it been hit by n3 already? Please and Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Motor needed for true fta + question about charlie?
no you can get your True FTA with a 39inch and using the magic brackets. The only reason why you are being recommended for a motor is because you can keep on moving the dish to any bird you want at time and you only need 1 LNB for the setup, and with the magic bracket your dish is stationary and set to specific birds with multiple LNBs.It's really based on your presonal preference as to what you wanna do.
DN will follow with N3 soon enough it's just a matter of time, and there is no specific date as to when it'll happen.110/119 are the primary DN birds, and 129 and the other DN birds are secondary, either carrying HD or international programming.

Re: Motor needed for true fta + question about charlie?
In a nutshell, if you use a multi LNB set up with a magic bracket ... you'll be ok for a while, i.e., until Charlie changes over to N3 as BEV has already done, if you opt for a motor and an Innovacom LNB you'll have more choices in the end.
As you'll have the ability to rotate/move your dish to catch whatever SAT's you can get in your area.

Crap..motor looks like the right choice. I was told that the magic bracket setup was cheaper and that it had no lag between sat changes, unlike the motor setup which did. This is the epitome of the consequence of being thrifty. =/

Re: Motor needed for true fta + question about charlie?
right.that's the downside about a motor, that and if you have multiple receivers, your forced to view same bird.
you can however combine both.say use a dish 500 for 119/110 and then the motor for everything else.119/110 channels will have no delay between birds, just the others.
so you can have both of best worlds too.but then you have 2 dishes.so you have to decide how to go about it.
but no doubt,a motor and invacom lnb = many, many more channels than a stationary dish can.

If it makesyou feel better the info you were were given was accuarate ... there is no lag etc ... but given the most recent developments, a motor and a innovcom LNB might be a nice addition to your set up.
