lnb install
hey, guys. alright, so i'm planning on picking up 119 now. currently, i have two dishes, hooked to a viewsat ultra stb. one dish is pointed 61.5 W Echo 3, and the other, is pointed to 110 W Echostar 7. the one that is pointed to echostar 7, can hold two lnbs, and is a bell express view dish. so i'm thinking of popping on another lnb and picking up 119 as well as it has some very awesome channels. my question is, can i put on any lnb? and would i have to make any adjustments to the dish alignment? because i'm getting 80+ ish on my 110 so would the second lnb just automatically pick up chans on 119 (i read somewhere dishes like these are designed with the lnbs suppose to separated 9 degrees apart). sorry, these questions may sound basic but i got someone to do my install. i know most of the theory, but have no experience in the practical part. but i know i can do it.

Re: lnb install
You'll want to buy a standard dual LNB ....about $20.00 (you'll need one LNB for each SAT).

Re: lnb install
Go to dish www.dishpointer.com and get all of the settings that correspond o your SPECIFIC location i.e., Elevation, Skew etc ...
That would be a solid forst step.

Re: lnb install
and the dish that is pointed to 110 can hold two lnbs and it is a bell express view dish. and creative, i did some calculations on the site you told me.. and it gives me these numbers about azimuth, elevation and stuff.. what i dont understand is the negative lnb skew.. wht does tht mean? and, will i be needing a compass for this install? gonna go have to buy one :/

Re: lnb install
did you have 2 lnbs pointed at 91w and 82w at one point
and what position is the lnb in on the dish
for example y yoke with lnb on right side if you are standing behind the dish

Re: lnb install
the 110 lnb is usually on the right side and the lnb for 119 is on the left
you may have to move the lnb to the other side and then adjust to get 110 back and then skew dish to get 119

Re: lnb install
skew is when you twist the dish like a steering wheel
elevation=up/down
azimuth=side to side easr/west
skew=twist clockwise/counterclockwise

Re: lnb install
when you go into the antenna settings page to set it up if you look in the top right hand corner or that page it will show what sat you are locked on

Re: lnb install
alirght, guys. slight problem because im an idiot. so it turns out the lnb that i bought, which is a digiwave Ku-Band LNBF, does not fit into any of the two slots on my bell express view dish. the casing on the dish which is supposed to be for 92 and 81 cant take this lnb. so now, i guess i have to buy another lnb? plus, when i was trying to put in this lnb, it seemed to really touch the other lnb already on there... they were awfully close... do you think this dish is capable of picking up both 119 and 110. its a bell express view. here's a pic. see, its supposed to hold two lnbs.

Re: lnb install
yeah they are suppose to be close like that you just need a lnb that fits a D-brackett
go to this link and look at the 2nd lnb on page
Hypermegasat.com, Dish LNBs
