I well imagine the card swap is about the upcoming switch from Nagra2 to Nagra 3.
This is what just happened to BEV...and now you see 82 & 91 blacked out.
This is going to happen soon to DN as well. (around the Holidays I'm told)
It is also rumored the coders are ready to fix the change in format...but will wait until everything is down before they come out with new fixes...and the world turns...
They can't fix it 'till it's broke...but I wouldn't be so worried about buying a receiver.
And to respond to this thread...if you are new at this...and want a simple, fast, cheap, with great support unit, and if you want the ONLY receiver that has Auto Setup feature on it...be smart (you will thank me later) and get the CoolSat6100 Private. ($100.)

Re: on the market for a new box
forgive my ignorence, but can the coolsat 6100 private be reprogrammed like most of the other units that i have read about? (i am assuming this is what support means). also i am interested in hd and i have been reading into some of those receivers that have hd capability but i am really confused on just what go with. especially for those d**h channels. can this unit be used with my existing c-band dish? i already have new digital hi temp c and ku band lmb's installed. i know i have alot to learn here and i greatly appreciate you help.

Re: on the market for a new box
welcome to abdss.
i suggest the pansat 9200hd unit since you have a C band dish as well.
this is one of the best for those big dishes.it can do dvb-s2 and has a great blind scan.
basic as all get out for 3rd party support.but a wise choice in your particular case.
you need to purchase a separate dvb-s2 board, but if you do,you will get allot more hd feeds with your BUD.
this is THE stb for you buddy.
tho she will set you back about the cost of 5-6 coolie 6k's "dressed out" for c band.
