2 different brand receivers in the same house...any reason to void??
Hey all,
I'm a new user of FTA but already a big fan of it. I started with 2 VS MAX HD about a month ago and ended up selling one of them to a friend who also liked the idea of voiding bills from big companies. I'm planing on buy another receiver since I need 2 boxes in my house and was wondering if there could be any reasons why I should void 2 different brands. Could I have any conflicts between them since sometimes I would be using both at the same time hooked up with the same dishes?? I notice last time DN was down that most part of the receivers needed a new fix while SV kept running with no problems. For this reason, I'm inclined to try the SV8K while still keeping my VS. Does anyone of you guys who knows a lot of FTA see any reason why I shouldn't try 2 different brands in the same house?
Thanks in advance for any info
L

Re: 2 different brand receivers in the same house...any reason to void??
In actuality, 2 receivers from different mfgs is EXACTLY what you need. That way if one craps out temporarly (due to file support issues) you may benefit from being able to have the other unit running since files are coming from two sources.
So, to recap, add another unit that isn't made by Viewsat and you'll be better off.

for sure.not only is there no reason not to do this, this is very wise.
besides that, the sv 8k is the best rated hd unit on the market.preferred by most for their hd tv enjoyment.
