Dish 1000.2 Switch for 2 FTA receivers
Hi, I'm a newbie here so sorry if this has been answered already. But I have a Dish 1000.2 with a DPP triple LNB (110, 119, and 129). It's currently hooked to a 4x1 switch so only my living room with a Sonicview 8000 get's reception. However, I would like to set up a another receiver for my bedroom and would like to know what switch I need to get. The second receiver will be a Coolsat 5K, and I'll use the 110 and 119 with it of course. I've heard of DP44 but thats seems like more than I need, and it's really expensive. Can anyone point me to right direction as to what I need to get? Thanks.

Re: Dish 1000.2 Switch for 2 FTA receivers
your 1000.2 has 3 outputs on it ...just bypass the switch and run your cable out of the lnb to the stbs

cisco said it right. no switches needed for up to 3 receivers.

It does have 3 outputs, but each output is specific to the a satellite (110, 119, and 129). And my sonicview 8k only has one lnb input. Thats why right now, I'm using a disecq 4x1 switch to connect the 3 output signals (110, 119, and 129) into one single output so it can go into my receiver. Now, I'm wondering how I couold set it up to go to another receiver.

Re: Dish 1000.2 Switch for 2 FTA receivers
each port carries the signal of all 3 lnbs you do not need a switch because it has a built in switch
just run a cable from the lnb to the sv8000 and another cable from the lnb to the coolsat and it will work just fine

Re: Dish 1000.2 Switch for 2 FTA receivers
Dish 1000.2, usually comes with an integrated DPP Triple LNB below:
If this is what you have, you should follow the suggestions already given to you above - one cable to each receiver - without any switch.
Another version of dish 1000.2 is with 3 DP Dual LNBs like here:
If this is what you have, you would need a second 4x1 diseqc to repeat what you have with the first one, for the second receiver, using the 3 unused coax hooks -one from each DP Dual LNB.

Yup that is the one I have. I was completely unaware that each of the 3 ports (black lines in the picture) carries all 3 signals. Because looking at the manual, it made it seem like each one of those port was connected to a specific lnb on top. But anyways, sweet!
Thanks for all the help from everyone!! I'm so glad I joined.

Re: Dish 1000.2 Switch for 2 FTA receivers
Ok, so I had some time this morning to check the dish and I couldn't get it to work the way you guys describe. It seems as though each of those three output ports are specific to a LNB and sat(119,110,129). When I tried to connect one of the ports directly to my receiver, I would only get signal on one of the 3 satellites.
I think the manual is right about each port being specific, here is picture from the manual, notice it specifies port 1=119, port 2=110, port 3=129, and port 4 = LNB In.

Re: Dish 1000.2 Switch for 2 FTA receivers
No, unless you have the bottom image LNB in my post#7 above (i believe not).
Each of the 3 hooks carries all 3 signals. Indeed, they have the default port as indicated 1,2,3 but the receiver diseqc port settings would take care about this.
Your receiver settings need to be like this:
Satellite:--------------119°---------110°----------129°
LNB Power:------------On -----------On------------On
LNB Type:-----------OCS-DP-------OCS-DP-------OCS-DP
LNB Frequency:-----11250--------11250--------11250
Transponder:--------12239--------12224--------12282
22khz:----------------- Off-----------Off-----------Off
Search options:--------All------------All------------All
Network search:-------On------------On------------On
Diseqc :---------------Port 1--------Port 2----------Port3
Motor:----------------Disable-------Disable------Disable
Legacy Switch:---------Off------------Off------------Off

Re: Dish 1000.2 Switch for 2 FTA receivers
With this dish each input is for one receiver. You'll be able to hook up three receivers off that dish. Hook 1 cable to any of the 3 outputs. Now setup each sat and just designate the port. Once you scan you'll get yor chan. Now hok up the next cale and set up the same way. Right now I'm running a VS200.aSV360 mand aSV8000 and it;s working good.
