mixing lnb signals
Sorry guess I don't know how to title this but...
I have a fta box and a subscription to dtv.
Is there some way to combine these signals to 1 cable?
Would it theoretically be possible to use like a diseqc or something to combine them then run one into the fta LNB in and come out the LNB out of it to the dtv box.
Reason asking i'm getting ready to rewire the house don't know if i need to run seperate lines for dtv, fta, ota, etc. Currently gonna run RG6 and two cat5 to each room. one for phone one 4 network.

Re: mixing lnb signals
Since you can't receive DTV on an FTA receiver, wanting to mix the signals is a moot point. If you can afford the cost of added wiring, why not run two RG6 lines to each room where TV might be. Dedicate one set for DTV and the other set to FTA and/or DN as an example.
Then equip. each room with an A/B switch to accomodate various receivers etc ...

Re: mixing lnb signals
Yea running cables would be easier but figured i'd ask if it was possible since I have 4 rooms to run.
How long can you run a line before you loose signal quality?

Re: mixing lnb signals
With a true DN installation, i.e., using a DN receiver, they say 200' or less.
Typically with FTA gear the standard measurement is about 106' or less.

Re: mixing lnb signals
since you have 4 rooms to equip with FTA, a quad lnb will work great along with the DN 500 dish.
