The question is: What are the file extensions generated by the ViewSat 7000 when a PVR recording has occured?

I'm trying to recover recorded files from a 110 gig hard-drive that was in a friends ViewSat 7000 PVR and and lost the files due to re-format. I 've used 4 different recovery tools and found thousands of files. He had at least 30 hours of recorded material but I can't seem to find any of those files on the recovery, although I find the other stuff on there going back 5 years.

I'm searching for files with extension .TRP because that's what another of the ViewSat saves it in. Since I don't have the machine on me I can't verify what the other file extensions are that are generated by PVR recordings on ViewSat 7000.

Any help or guidance any of you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

The problem I was having with my viewsaat is that a fat32 format file can only hold 4 gigs thus the extensions

The box itself has onboard memory and its limit, i understand, but that is not what I'm asking.

What I'm asking is what are the file extensions the Viewsat records in. GTS? TRP? TS? etc

If I know what they are I can search for them in the several thousands of files I recovered from a reformatted hard drive.

I have searched for the ones mentioned above, but I have not found them but I need to confirm I'm looking for the right kind of files.

Ideas anyone?

.e2fs nope.

can't find anything starting with .e*...what are those of that extension used for ?
