105 superdish
just picked up a 105 superdish and have a question about the lnb's.
can the linear lnb from the 105 superdish be used to pick up the true fta sats or is it only good for picking up dn sats that require a linear lnb.
thanks in advance

Re: 105 superdish
Dn sats use a circular lnb. Fta sats use linear.

Re: 105 superdish
so you are saying for example 118.7w actually uses a circular lnb?
according to this sticky dn uses a few sats requiring linear lnb's...

Re: 105 superdish
118.7 uses a linear, 110,119 uses a circular.

Re: 105 superdish
Linaear and a 30 plus inch dish will get you plenty of fta sats, fta sats also will require you to skew the dish.

Re: 105 superdish
It should just remember to use the correct lnb freq when searching out these sats. Good luck and have fun.

Re: 105 superdish
118.7 and 119 are so close to each other . If both are circular huge mess would be occur in result. Radio waves will interfere with each other satellite .This is why they cannot be the same kind.

The DN Superdish105 LNB marked FSS for 105W is band-stacked linear and works great for true FTA sats. Just limit the scan to verticals only or duplicate scans will result. Although the LNB is DishPro(OCS-DP) I have gotten better results using the "Standard" or "Single" setting. Believe it or not, the LNB for 119W DBS Stacked is also linear, but the feedhorn has internal reflection walls that convert circular to linear. I have used the FSS LNB on 97W and 123W among others.
On rudnisty's point: 118.7W broadcasts low band circular (11.7-12.2GHz) and 119W broadcasts high band circular (12.2-12.7GHz), so there are no significant interactions despite the proximity. Many e-Bay sellers incorrectly advertise 118.7W as linear. You can confirm this on lyngsat.

Re: 105 superdish
one last question (for now) on the lnb...being that it is a dish pro lnb would i be able to add fta sat 123w through a dp34 to distribute throughout the house. im trying to map this out b-4 i start hooking it up and that would be the easiest way as i have dn running through a couple of these switches already.

Re: 105 superdish
If you are using the DN FSS LNB originaly meant for 105, that is dishpro band-stacked linear, it would work with the dp34.
