I have my dish at 84 signal strength and 100 quality. Will i pick more channels if I get my signal strength at 100?

Re: more channels?
no....it is quality that matters, not signal....it would be impossible to get your signal strength to 100 anyways....

Re: more channels?
Always remember that Strength is the STB reading the LNB, and Quality is the LNB reading the Sat signal. The 84 signal is excellent. I never have got mine above 80 on any STB...

I think around 75 is a normal or average signal reading, but I'm a bit suprised by this comment,
I get 82-84 signal readings on my viewsat recievers, and 90+ on my coolsats, but that is with very high quality cable and cable ends, so that probably helps a bit,

Re: more channels?
ive gotten strength to 100..****ed a signal amplifier...i quickly took it out when i realized i had LOST channels...it had a clipping effect like turning up the gain too high on a car amplifier. 84% signal is great...are you missing channels?

Re: more channels?
this will explain signal and quality for you:
quality and signal
quality- this bar indicates the signal the dish is picking up from the sat.
eg; echostar 7, nimic 1,3 etc... if your dish is not aligned you will not have
quality but you could have signal.
signal- this bar tells you the status of your connections including your coax,
all ends on the coax, and your switch. if you have no signal you cant pick up quality so both will read 0.
always check your settings and connections first and always turn your stb off before moving, changing,
or disconnecting anything.
