Motor w/5x2 Eagle Aspen Switch

Hello,
I just setup a the following but am now only able to pickup a fraction of the channels I previously had:
Dish= 33"
Motor= 2100- H-H
Switch= Model S-4120-GX Eagle Aspen 5x2 (22kHz switch)
LNB= Invacom Quad (dual polarity)
Receiver= Viewsat Ultra

First of all the installation instructions for the switch are very fague. I called Sadoun where I purchased it and didn't get very recommendable customer service.

My question is:
What is the best way to connect the lnb/quad to the switch?

Should the linear lnb's be on the same "sat" input on the switch? Or should there be one circular lnb and one linear lnb be connected to each sat.

There are a total of four coaxial input for the lnb's.
Sat A- shows (18V/0kHZ, 14V/0kHz)
Sat B- shows (18V/22kHz, 14V/22kHz)

Here is a link to the switch I have:

Re: Motor w/5x2 Eagle Aspen Switch

are you running your switch before the motor right?(between the rec and motor)
if not, you should.
also you know we're losing channels after DN switched to N3 system.
if you have the channels before you should check again(and post it here) your settings.

Re: Motor w/5x2 Eagle Aspen Switch

Thanks Gibahca.
Yeah, I know we are loosing channels. It just seems like I am doing something wrong with the quad setup/connection to the switch.
Yes, the quad is connected directly to the switch. (quad/lnb, switch, motor, reciever)
Has anyone else setup this configuration? Should the linear lnb's be on one sat input and the circular be on the other sat input?

Re: Motor w/5x2 Eagle Aspen Switch

yes...i have a invacom quad here but i'm using only 2 outputs(1xlinear and 1xcircular)
but i have a diseqc4x1 and i have circular on port 3 and linear on port 4.
i think the best option to you is get 1 circular and 1 linear to sat A and the 2 others to sat B.

Edit:
i think you must setup 22khz options to SAT B.
22khz must be on for both circular and linear on SAT B.

Re: Motor w/5x2 Eagle Aspen Switch

without going into alot of detail.....and no offense meant by this.....but you seem like a bit of a newbie, and that switch will most likely just end up making things more difficult for you then they should be.....

to make things easier for you i would really recommend just using a 22khz switch or a 4x1 diseqc switch instead.....

one wire from your reciever to the motor input.....one wire from the motor output into the switch.....then two wires from the switch to the LNB.....one wire to a "C" port and one wire to an "L" port.....

now when setting up your satellites you need to select the proper port on the switch depending on if its a circular or linear satellite.....

the switch you have now would need 4 wires off the LNB.....

- one wire from "C" port one to a 13V input
- one wire from "C" port two to an 18V input
- one wire from "L" port one to the other 13V input
- one wire from "L" port two to the other 18V input

So is this what you are saying?
- one wire from "C" port one to a 13V input - on the 0kHz side SAT A
- one wire from "C" port two to an 18V input - on the 0kHZ side SAT A
- one wire from "L" port one to the other 13V input - on the 22kHz side Sat B
- one wire from "L" port two to the other 18V input - on the 22kHz side Sat B

This kinda differs from what the other guy above suggested. And yes I realize this switch is for 2 recievers. That is the one of the reasons I bought it.

Thanks for the help and pointing out that I am a newbie.

Re: Motor w/5x2 Eagle Aspen Switch

Thanks to everyone, I figured it out.
The setup proposed above worked. The problem was one bad connection with a coax end. The sheathing was not making a proper connection to the connector.
I still truly don't understand who makes the user manuals and installation guides. It makes me wonder why they even bother to provide one.
