HughesNet LNB FTA setup
I was playing around today and figured out a low cost set up for mounting LNBs on an old HughesNet dish. I haven't tuned it up yet or dialed it in but maybe these photos will help others think of creative ways to use these dishes.
The parts cost about $17 at my local lowes.

Re: HughesNet LNB FTA setup
Oh, sure. The bolt sizes to fit the threaded holes on the LNB mount are 1/4 - 20. The conduit hangers are 3/4 inch to fit the LNB. The conduit is also 3/4 but I'm sure 1/2 would work (Lowes only had 3/4 inch conduit hangers so I went with 3/4).

They say it has a million and one uses so if it worked for you I guess they can add it to the list.
Actually, once I had the parts it only took about 15 minutes to setup. I'm tuning it up today and being able to adjust the LNBs to the best position is working well.

Here is a picture of the way I have it set up now. In the other pictures the dish was in the garage before I set it outside and I hadn't put the coax on it yet.
In this picture I'm dialed in to get (from left to right as looking at the picture) 129, 123, 119, 110 & the other two are picking up transponders but I think they are DirecTV and I can't get channels on them.

Re: HughesNet LNB FTA setup
Looks good, but i don't see how you would skew it.

This last picture doesn't show it very good but the whole dish is skewed because the linear LNB is fixed to the dish the way it's attached right now. Minor skew adjustments were then done by adjusting the bolts between the LNB and the conduit hangers on the cross bar.

Yup, it's fun to play. One of the things I found most interesting with the bigger dish, once pointed at a sat, was just holding and LNB in my hand (attached to the STB of course) and moving it around in front of the dish to "find" the sat I'm looking for.
I do like the multi dish thing, they are out there for free if you know where to look.
