Ihub and security....
Is this Ihub HKS any more secure than other HKS boxes, or are we basically dealing with the same concerns I would have about any other internet connected box?

Re: Ihub and security....
same thing goes for logging on to iks as there is logging on to a fta site
if they can trace one then they can trace the other
simply put it is just a decision that each person has to make for themselves
there will be people for it and against it

Re: Ihub and security....
are there different servers for different brands, or do they all use information shared from the same source?

Re: Ihub and security....
Yup, you run the risk of getting caught whenever you use a file to illegal unlock scrambled signals. The only good news is that they usually don't go after end-users. Too much trouble and not worth it. They'll have to go for the big fish= resellers, coders, manufacturers etc.
Of course, this doesn't mean that they won't try to do anything. But we haven't seen anything done to the average Joe with an NFusion yet.
And bigevil is right, every brand has their own IKS server since each system is different from one another. Usually overseas where Dik and Bev can't reach. I think SV's server is in Europe, but that's just my guess.

That's why they're off-shore I must say though, some IKS systems are more secure than others. Won't name names :P

Re: Ihub and security....
A well known site that was hosted in the Netherlands was recently shutdown at the same time as the digital store bust......
The Netherlands is known as a country that does not adhere or acknowledge U.S or Canadian piracy laws so many sites are hosted there.
Off shore or not, the risk is still there. No matter if you download a bin or run IKS there are still risks involved.
Educate yourselves and gauge the risks when considering opening an encrypted signal.

Re: Ihub and security....
Well i will.jk
With the knowledge SV has in this hobby of ours i would be very surprised if they would make a rookie mistake as far as servers go.
That being said.....The stability once the server/servers get a heavy load is still to be tested.
I honestly wish this team success.

Re: Ihub and security....
I have cable so i'm not worried, history, discovery and sci-fi are good enough for me. If I did use iks, it would just be for a fight.

Yup, I never left my cable company. IKS is just a fun hobby and a good way to get something extra, and in my case, sports channels/events.
