How to connect 2 satellite receivers to 1 TV
Hi Guys,
i have 2 receivers one works fine for charlie and other works for b3v, my problem is everytime i have to watch b3v / charlie i have to remove the RF cable from one receiver to another.
Is there a RF splitter available which has one input and 2 outputs? what i am thinking is the main satellite cable can be connected to the INPUT of 2 way splitter and one cable can be connected from the output of splitter to the inputs of my 2 receivers so that all i have to do is switch AV1 to AV2 and watch programming?
please advise. thanks guys

Re: How to connect 2 satellite receivers to 1 TV
You can get an A/B switch or use coax from one reciver and RCA's from the other one.

Re: How to connect 2 satellite receivers to 1 TV
You can get an a/b switch just about anywhere. You plug coax from one receiver into a and then coax from the other receiver and press b when you want to use that receiver. RCA'a are the Red/White/Yellow cords.

Re: How to connect 2 satellite receivers to 1 TV
I cannot understand why you need to run two receivers to watch Dish and Bell.
All you need to do is connect the Dish satellites (say 119 and 110) to a DiSEqC switch LNB1 for 119 and LNB2 for 110 and connect Bev 91 to LNB3 and 82 to LNB4 of the DiSEqC switch and take one cable from the DiSEqC sw "To Receiver" connection directly to your One receiver and connect that receiver to the TV and you have all four Sats on your TV without having to change cables or use an A/B switch.

Re: How to connect 2 satellite receivers to 1 TV
if these are both FTA receivers AND you are only going to be using one at a time, then a switch or splitter is not nessessary......
all you need to do is run the satellite feed into one of the receivers like normal.....then you need to connect an RG6 cable to the "loop out" or "loop through" connector of this same receiver.....connect the other end of the loop out cable to the LNB input of the second receiver......
whichever receiver you are NOT using at any given time must be put in standby mode (powered off with remote) before you use the other receiver.....
use two different inputs on your TV, so now no cable swapping is nessessary.....just power one off with remote and power the other one on to switch between them.....

Re: How to connect 2 satellite receivers to 1 TV
it can be this simple if you are using subscription boxes.
Coaxial Switch
Remember that you will still have to turn both boxes off before throwing the switch.
if they are 1 fta box or both fta then Bill's advice is the best way to go.

Re: How to connect 2 satellite receivers to 1 TV
It will work fine but whatever sat/channel that the off receiver is on that will be the sat that it passes through to the other receiver, i.e if you leave it on a channel 105 say which is on sat 119 then the other receiver will only get the channels on sat 119.

this is only true if both receivers are turned on at the same time.....if one of them is in standby mode then the other will function 100% normally

Re: How to connect 2 satellite receivers to 1 TV
This may be a difference between the different makes and models then. I'm not sure that all makes will control a switch this way and be able to switch between 2 different sats. Could be the same thing when the both are powered up and if receiver 1 is on a horizontal channel it will only pass the verticals to the second receiver. Thoughts?

Re: How to connect 2 satellite receivers to 1 TV
Get two RF modulators, Radio Shack has a stereo model fer cheep. Set one to channel 3 the other to channel 4 hook each one to a STB and insert the output RG59 or better into a single cable to your TV

i have never had a problem with this setup, the second receiver has been able to control switches through the loop out port of the first.....but i have only tested a couple of different receivers this way, so your comment about different makes and models could be true.....
if both receivers are turned on then they both have to view the same satellite.....and one of them will only get H channels and the other one will only get V channels.....

I've had this debate before I've just never been able to pin down what receivers works this way and what don't, thanks.
