Unless your motor and dish are aimed PERFECTLY, I mean 100% perfect, then you will probably have trouble picking up most linear FTA sats with a 30 inch dish, I always recommend a 36 incher, and that is an absolute minumum

Re: fta with motor
I have a 36 eliptical dish, no tv yet but still trying. Yes, I need to try aligning things better, tomorrow I will give things another try. At present I have a sg2100 mounted but might scrap that thing or at least remove it until I can gain some confidence.
One thing at a time because things are too screwed up right now. I am attemping to get 123 as a starter using a Cooool 5000. The lnb is something I picked up a few years ago, forgot the pig's name. I do own the one that is better recommended but I am tired as I type and don't remember the name. Anyway, it has 4 outputs, 2 linear and 2 circular.
I need to make sure I am doing things right before I spend much more time trying to get ANYTHING. I dumped all tv stuff that was loaded into the 5000 I purchased because the it had 110 as a satellite. Every time I tried to get the motor to stay put on 123, the stb would reset back the 110 rather than stay on 123. Now there is nothing in the stb, no old bins, just factory. Am I correct that these settings should work?
I think tomorrow I am going to try getting 123 without using the motor until I can gain some confidence in what I am doing.

Re: fta with motor
Yes setting it back to factory will work for you.. Sometimes it helps to take a break, I am sure you will get it right away tomorrow.

TC, Galaxy 18r is a true FTA bird? Don't remember that one when my motor was working. Just got a new 39 inch Fortec dish and a new motor, hope to install it next week.
