Re: Did I just fry my reciever???!!!
Hi
I am going to check my sat position, I got everything to load and the settings are now as I was instructed. I still am not even showing a blip of signal. I thought the original position would at least get me where I could fine tune. Could someone look at my first post on this thread and speculate on this blunder?
Many Thanks
Garland

Re: Did I just fry my reciever???!!!
Dish 500 with Dish plus LNB to the original Splitter on the back of the dish, brand new rg-6 to the house jct box, inside directly from jct box to dish power strip and surge protector, from there to reciever, from receiver to sony stereo reciever with rca and then rca to tv.
Thanks

Re: Did I just fry my reciever???!!!
No, just the one.
I am really concerned that the antena booster that was in the line may have damaged my receiver.

Re: Did I just fry my reciever???!!!
Yes I can, The rg-6 is 100ft long and I will run it in thru a window or something. I will not be able to do this until tomorrow. I will post the results.
Thanks again for your help.

Re: Did I just fry my reciever???!!!
that may be the problem between 100-150 feet you start loosing some signal
also all the switches and junction boxes you mentioned may have to be bypassed

Re: Did I just fry my reciever???!!!
Good Day
I figured out my problem, I powered down the reciever last night and booted this morning and had signal. I fine tuned 110 and 119 and now I have 400 scrambled channels. To me at this point, that is progress. I know DN is blacked out so now that I have figured oout the "box" what would be my next recommended move? Newer software? Linear LNB? A motor? An 11' dish? Are we having fun yet??!!
Many thanks to all who have helped me along!!

Re: Did I just fry my reciever???!!!
I've banged my head against that problem, forgetting to completely power down the STB after a firmware or antenna mod.
BTW the power inserter will not harm your STB, if you have a long cable run to your LNB it would be a good idea to leave it in line.

I have not mastered the language yet, I went to the glossary and did not find "ihub". What is it?
