Re: can a 1000.2 and a 500dp ....
The 1000.2 has 3 DPP LNBs built in. They will detect 119, 110 and 129. There are 3 outputs on the unit marked 1, 2 & 3. There is a 4th input to add another satellite with a separate dish but must use a DP LNB on it.
Now for what you are planing to do, you can use the 1000.2 to point to 119 and 110 and not use 129, then use the Dish 500 with two DP Dual LNBs and point it to 91 and 82. Then add a DPP44 switch and run cables from outputs 1 and 2 of the 1000.2 dish to inputs 1 and 2 of the Switch and run two cables from 91 and 82 into inputs 3 and 4 of the switch.
Then run the power inserter into the output 1 of the Switch and then you can run outputs to 4 receivers if you so wish.
Since you are using a DPP44 switch the input on the 1000.2 LNB will be blocked and not usable.

Re: can a 1000.2 and a 500dp ....
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I am using a single LNB to pick up the 91 & 82.It is a legacy LNB. Must (2) DP Dual LNB"S be used to pick up the 91 & 82?

modem; if you select a Sat at a different location then you must have another LNB aimed with a static fixation at that location or the ability to motor to it upon request . Look up azimuth.

Re: can a 1000.2 and a 500dp ....
Hello Triac,
I am using a dual Legacy LNB in conjuction with a SW21 switch to pick up the 91 & 82. I am receiving the 91 & 82. My question was, should I be using a dual DP LNB to pick up these sats?

Re: can a 1000.2 and a 500dp ....
rodster562; Your 1000.2 and 500 have the ability to point at 5 locations.
The input on your 1000.2 labeled as LNB in can support only one LNB, your 500 has two outputs you may pick one but not both.
This configuration has this flaw, the 1000.2 has a built in DiSEqC 1.0 switch and it only handle 4 LNB (sat locations).
There are several other resolves but you must have extra switches.
I use a 22kHz switch, 0 tone to the 1000.2 and 22kHz tone to a DiSEqC switch connected to the remainder of the other sat locations, up to four may be added, with this configuration we now have ability to receive seven sat locations.
(Note; I have three STB connected to the three out ports on the 1000.2 dish, one must be a Dishnet Pro Receiver.)
Please be aware that not all brands of 22kHz switches can pass DiSEqC signals or visa versa.
Ecoda brand is a good one, as well as the Chieta brand for DiSEqC.

modem; with the SW21 your dual legacy LNBs will work as expected.

Re: can a 1000.2 and a 500dp ....
am only trying to hit the 91 and 82 with the 1000.2 and 119 and 110 with the 500 and both are dp and actually each have 3 out puts what i was trying to do was avoid the use of a switch these are dp units and they have internal switches and the lnbs are not seperated they are the enclosed dp boxes so I have to have a big switch and run a line into it for each sat I wanna hit and then out puts to my 3 boxes which sucks when I have the ability to have 5 out puts from switching lnbs with out using external was just trying to do things the simple way.
