Who is getting anik f3 118 with a regular dish 500?

Using the special lnb, and NOT a dish 500+, whos getting 118 with a regular dish 500. All i wanted was 110/119/and 118. At first all it seemed i had to do was get the special lnb, switch it with one of the old lnbs, and i would have 118 added to the 119/110 i already had, but people on this site keep telling me Noooo its impossible u need a big dish, but then i hear people saying afterwards yea it works on 500 im sooo happpy. I already am getting a new dish but i wanna for sure now, is it possible, does dish 500+special lnb=118? I am hoping personally that someone who has this setup will answer.

I don't have the setup, but I believe that to get Anik F3 you do need the dish 1000 size dish. The signal is not as strong as the 110 and 119 and hence the need for a bigger size dish. You will notice that even with the 1000 dish the Anik F3 signal is not as strong as the 110/119.

Yes that is true. You will get less channels on a Dish 500. But if you use a 30" dish you can pick up all the channels for 118.

As has been stated, signals on ANIK F3 are much weaker than on DBS satellites. A 30" dish is the minimum. Even at that size, some channels will be marginable. I recommend a 33" or better yet a 36" dish.

A regular dish 500 is only 20in.with two dual Lnbs.A 24 in.dish wont pull
the signal in very good.You wont be sorry your getting the bigger dish.
If you want 118.8 you need that size.Dont beleive every thing you hear.

Yep you will be better with 30" inch dish.

wait what if its 24 inch but elliptical, whos getting it with a <30 inch elliptical dish.

The best dish for 118.8 is 36in. dish.This gives the strongest signal for
all the International channels.Ive been using this for years and have tested 24 and 30.Im using a 36 with never a problem.
