SG9120 DiSEqC Motor - New Product Release
I wanted to take a second and release a new product that I have been working on for the past few months. This has come as a direct result of our customers demanding a better quality motor and a true heavy duty DiSEqC motor that can handle a 1.2m antenna with ease.
This is the new SG-9120 DiSEqC motor. Compared to the old SG6000, the SG-9120 has metal gears, which is excellent for handling larger and heavier 1.2m satellite dishes, and is already out-fitted with a 50mm tube for better stability. The 50mm tube allows a stable installation of an antenna. Included in the package are 4 additional longer nuts and bolts that fit our famous WS9036 36 inch satellite dish to allow the installation of the WS9036 36 inch dish or similar on the 50mm tube.
Since the SG9120 DiSEqC motor is truely made for heavy duty operation and comes with a 50mm tube, it prohibits installation of a Winegard DS2076 model or most Fortec Star 80/90cm models.
Steel Gears Make This DiSEqC Motor Truely Heavy Duty
Don't Spend Money On Older Models Claiming To Be Heavy Duty with Plastic Gear. The SG9120 Is The Latest & Most Durable & Heavy Duty DiSEqC Motor On The Market!

Re: SG9120 DiSEqC Motor - New Product Release
very nice.....but i dont really see why its nessessary.....
the SG2100 and the SG6000 are both rated for a 1.2M dish.....
i have had a 1.2M fortec star dish on an SG2100 for 4 years without one single problem.....and it gets to 100+ here in the summer, and -40 in the winter.....
i dont know why everybody is so paraniod about plastic gears.....they were designed to do the job, and are doing it very well.....

Re: SG9120 DiSEqC Motor - New Product Release
well where i live it goes to -50-55 sometimes it last a week or 2 so i went with the stab because of the metal gears but it is a saftey thing for me when it is that cold you should see my motor moves like hh120 with a 42 inch dish LOL
so i say it is a good thing for the north people who go past -40

one disadvantage is metal gears freeze up....plastic dont....
i have tested 3-4 different metal geared motors including the DG series....they all froze up in the cold weather, to the point where i was locked on one satellite for 3-4 days until a good bright sun would thaw it enough to move....
i have also found the metal geared motors to be alot slower in the cold weather....

Re: SG9120 DiSEqC Motor - New Product Release
hhmmm never had that problem in 3 yerars with my hh90 but if it got warm the back down to -55 i could see it happening but that would happen with all of them really i have used both and a buddy has the sg2100 and he has had bo problems so i think they are all good when it comes to both brands ..
and morc68 you have plastic gears do not open it or you break the seal and you will have problems ..
