is that mean you need the regular Dn receiver to hook up all the time to support the power for the switch, is the coolsat 6000 will work without hook up the DN recevier?

Re: Multi sats setup by using DP switches

Thanks grass hopper.

From the diagram, instead of a Dish 500, I have a Direct TV Kaku; Can it send the signals from the Kaku to the Edo 22Khs swith.

Also once I get the signal inside the house which switch is recommended to use for the 2 receivers (FTA and Dish).

The 1st thing I did in tying to hook up my FTA receiver to the same TV that my Dish network is on, is hooking up the cable in the wall of my house to up a 2x4 switch that I purchased. That did not work and I did not go any further. Hence the reason why I am asking if there is a specific switch to use for dish or, can the dish signal and the FTA signal be connect to 1 switch and if so which switch?

Re: Multi sats setup by using DP switches

I have a DN1000.2 going to a SV8k. I want to add a DN500 pro and set them both up as the diagram above shows. Do I need the dp44 and dp34 switch when both of my dishes have built in switching. With my setup shouldn't I just send a feed from one of the outgoing ports of each dish to the encode switch and then to the receiver.

thanks for ur time guys

Unhappy Re: Multi sats setup by using DP switches

Hi Grasshopper. I just signed up with this forum site. I can use every help you can give. I just bought a Pansat 3500SD and Sonicview SV 4000. My dish setup is: I have 2 sat dishes (1.8m and a ~1m sizes which we need here in US Virgin Islands) each with a DP dual LNBF's, all 4 cables connected to a SW64 to 4 Dishnetwork receivers. This system is using Dishnetwork service without problem since the dishnetwork has recognized the SW64. But then I heard about this FTA's so I bought these 2 receivers.
1. How do setup the dish settings under installation menu about the LNB type, 22Khz, Diseqc , Legacy switch.
At first, I used the commonly suggested setup: LNB type: OCS-DP, 22kHz OFF, DisEq Port 1(110)/2(119), Legacy SW None. With this setup, a)I can not get lower channels like 100's-200's, b)some other channels display Scrambled but c)most of the time it displays "searching signal" for a while which is very frustrating. Programs come and go esp when I switch channels.
Any other suggestion/advice please. Thank you very much in advance.

RZ

Re: Multi sats setup by using DP switches

I would like to know if I can do away with the dishnetwork receiver and connect my viewsat directly to the port 1 including the power supply to the dp 44.

I know this question was asked by someone but I'd like to find out if someone has actually tried this.

I figured the power supply to the dp44 leading to the 22k switch might cause some interference.

I appreciate your input

The switch 34 needs constant power at all times if you have one stb connected with a ecoda switch it will not work. Now two stb's one with ecoda switch one with out will work. Any make of stb should power the switch.

Re: Multi sats setup by using DP switches

does that mean the 22khz prevents power from reaching the multiswitches? i was planning on using the 22khz between all my stbs and multiswitches

this is an old thread buddy. If you start a new one im sure someone would have answered your question by now. To answer your question yes this setup allows you to access 6 sats with the option to add 1 more
