Re: Dish types and uses..

You'll need a 4x1 diseqc switch. Depending on your LNBs, your setup should look something like this....

or like this...

Re: Dish types and uses..

I have this set up
Plus Dish 500+/1000+
Same as the Dish 1000 in function but about 5" larger and can pick up the 118.75° FSS location. As a 500+ it picks up 110°, 118.75° and 119°. Adding an LNB for 129° makes it a 1000+.

with an sv4000. What are the settings on the receiver supposed to be?
Thanks in advance for all help.

Re: Dish types and uses..

Storman666 -

I have an elliptical DirectTV dish ( about 30" wide) with 5 LNBs. From what you're saying...I should point the dish toward 91W satellite -- to get the rest of the satellite altogether? Thanks for the info.

Re: Dish types and uses..

The DN Superdish121 was designed to receive 110-119-121W sats. There isn't much on 121W these days, so updating the LNBF assembly with the DN148328 Repoint Kit ($50-70 eBy) will modify the dish to receive 110-118.7-119-129W. A 4-input DiSEqC switch works fine if you have only 1 receiver.

Note: 1) The Repoint Kit will not fit the arm of the fiberglass version of this dish. 2) The dish will be HD ready with 129W capability, but the SV360 is SD only. 3) Other creative aftermarket alternatives are available, this is the setup I use.

Re: Dish types and uses..

Just a quick note from an FTA NWB, DTV dishes work just as well as DN dish set ups do. With a little of modifications and changing out the LNB's of course. Have used this setup several times with great success. Means if you already have a DTV dish setup you don't have to purchase a new DN dish or mount it!! Just my 2 cents on the deal!!!!

Welcome to the site...Glad to help!!!

First what LNBs do you have?? You will not be able to pick up the DTV birds using FTA equipment. You can certainly pick up charlie and others... FYI if you are looking to just get 110 & 119 then you will want to go with wither a DPP twin or quad. These will give you the most basic setup with little mods. These can be picked up on EBY for under $25.

What birds are you after?? If you are after DN channels then i would pick up a DP Twin or Quad dual LNB. You can get them on EBY for about $25. My current setup using a DTV elliptical dish yields me 700+ channels, & 150+ music channels by just looking at 110 & 119.

Re: Dish types and uses..

Sorry for the delay in response i was out of town. You should not need another dish. What LNB do you have?? If it is a DPP twin it should have an input port to add another LNB. If not a circular LNB and a switch will get you what you want. Not the mounting of this third LNB is the only thing you have to worry about. You should be able to find a bracket for mounting from one of the site sponsors here on ABADSS.com, or one might be found on EBY. Positioning your 118 LNB will depend on your current LNB.
