sure.with an hd fta receiver and a great big 10-12 foot dish you can get movie central HD 1 free and clear all the time on anik f2 for example.

Been trying for about 3-months to get that channel back (Movie Central) an dont know what happen to it? signal is still their cause can see it on the spectrum anz but cant lock on it any more went away about August, an view it for quite a wile,real sharp vidio, c-band HD is some of the best HD that anyone can look at far better than any ku signal less compression by far. Arboristman if you know how to get it in let me know. Thank you Captain

Here is what I have and it works:

1) Use Dish500+ and Viewsat Extreme receiver
2) Set LNBF for 119W as Standard, Freq 11250
3) Set LNBF for 118.7W as Standard, Freq 10750
4) The center lnbf on Dish500+, 1F port is for 118.7W, and 2D is for 119W
5) Aim on the 119W first, make sure signals are strong.
6) Then 118.7W bird should be automatically picked up
7) Remember to add Freq 11745, V, 20000, 7/8 to 118.7

i got the 119 on 118
by changing the lnb setting the frequency will be changed for less 500

I would like to receive Anik F3 on viewsat platinum. In the satellite list, it does not have Anik F3. How could I have Anik F3 satellite in the satellite list in viewsat platinum receiver?

You need a low band circular LNB. Set LNB freq to 10750 and lnb type to standard.

For the VS plat, select Echo 118.7 as the sat. But right now the new bins that have come out recently for platinum have not been able to get channels from Anik F3. When you scan it, you will see the channels, but no video or audio. Have not figured out what the problem is.

AB, Sorry, I am a little confused here. With a Dish Twin LNB, can I get Internationals on 118.7 (as advertised on d!$h nw). Do I need to modify the Freq to 10500 or 10750? Will that help?

For those who are getting 118.8w with an elliptical dish, can you please let me know the picture quality of the Thuan Viet channel (tp 3)? Can you receive this channel on that dish or do I need to get a bigger one? Thanx

im not sure about the exact channel/transponder you are talking about, but when i did have anik programmed in i got about 130 channels on a 24x18 elliptical dish.....although quality was very low it was still watchable.....my dish is aimed pretty much perfect with a sat finder.....getting 80+ on 91 and 110.....75 on 119 and 82

I believe the transponder is 11745 R (according to lyngsat). The SID is918. I'd be very interesting in knowing if you can get this channel.

i would love to help you out but unfortunately i cant.....i dont have that LNB installed on my dish anymore, so i cant even go scan it for you.....sorry.....

its really best to get a bigger dish if you can

Can you or can you not get 118 (anik f3) without having to get a larger dish and/or special wide band lnb?

I have a dish 500 with a dual lnb (i believe its a plus, the two lnbs are together in one housing, not sure of the exact model number), if i try to get that doing what someone else suggested and set the lnb freq to 10750, all it does is add channels from 119 at a difference of 500 hz, so if you are trying to add channels from tp of 11715 hz, youll just get channels from 11715+500 hz. so even though it acts as if its getting signal i think its just scanning 119 again. I have a dish 1000 with three lnbs, they are separately spaced, would this work, it is an elliptical dish 24" x 18" or so.

Lastly, a third option, i was thinking about buying a larger direct tv dish from craigslist, 1. its larger, 2. it has the lnb setup similar to the repoint kit being sold on ebay, 2 regular lnb, plus 1 larger one thats a little seperate, which i believe to be the wide band one that is supposed to pick 119 and 118 at the same time.

There still from what ive read no clear cut answers to this issue of 118, what is di$h doing for all thier customers who are buying pkgs with channels that are exclusively on 118 (ex Mh1)? are they fitting all those people with repoint kits and/or new dishes (free or at thier cost)?

I think its wierd that no singular answer to this issue exists.

Ok option 3 when you say CB2008 (dual) & CE1000 (single). Do you mean either of those 2 will work or you need both CB2008 (dual) & CE1000 (single) to get anik f3

Haven't read much about option #4, you'll be just fine with any of the other three.

Echo7 and Anik F3 are both on 119w, there is nothing on 118.7w or 118.8w at the moment (AMC 16 used to be there but now is on 97w, Charlie is no longer using this sat).

Hello arboristman,

I’ve been trying to use a dual LNB on a large dish with no luck in targeting ANIK-F3. I bought an ECHO 2008 DBS/Circular Dual LNBF: (h**p://bestbuyfta.com/eShops/index.php?target=products&product_id=16) like the one shown here. If I understand your post, all I need to do is replace the existing 119 LNB with this one (on my current 18” dish. I’m using a Pansat 2700A. This satellite (ANIK-F) is not listed in the setup menu – do I care? …. Or do I just scan (blind?) the 119 EchoStar 7 bird at 119?

the only thing you can see international channel is 33" dish circular linear 118.7 capable lnb and u can watch asian channel and some international.

You need to use the "hybrid" LNB, a dish at least 24" and you need to set your antenna settings to 118.8, not 119

The Freq. should be set to 10750 as well.

There are also HD channels, but you need an HD box to get them.

I have cs5k, d?44, I get 118.7 but the problem is with 118.7 tp. It starts at 11.724 and not 11.715 as indicated on lynsat. I only get few channle on 118. Any idea why?
