Re: pointing dish?

in antenna settings, set your lnb type to ocs-dp.
on 119, put in diseqc port 1 and 110 put in port 2.
on 119, use the TP freqency of 12239.
if that does not work, you will have to move your dish a bit, your close but not right.

Re: pointing dish?

ok i went into the settings and set it the way you said...on my S and Q its locked in for 110 but bounces from 0-77 for 119 so i probably need to tune it a little more than.....now do i need to run two coax cables from LMB to a Discq switch than one cable to the box?

Re: pointing dish?

If you have a Twin LNB, you only need to run one cable.
If you have 2 Dual LNBs, then you need to use a Diseqc switch.

Use this site to help you align your dish--> DishPointer.com - Satellite Dish Pointer / Alignment Calculator with Google Maps

And make sure your antena settings are as follow....

SATELLITE............Echo 8,10 110W
LNB POWER.........On
LNB TYPE.............Standard (OCS-DP if using DP LNBs)
LNB FREQ.............11250
22KHz...................Off
TP FREQ...............12224
DISEqC1.0..............Port 2
MOTOR..................Off
LEGACY SW..........None

SATELLITE............Echo 7 119W
LNB POWER.........On
LNB TYPE.............Standard (OCS-DP if using DP LNBs)
LNB FREQ.............11250
22KHz...................Off
TP FREQ...............12239
DISEqC1.0..............Port 1
MOTOR..................Off
LEGACY SW..........None

Re: pointing dish?

Aim at 119 first starting with the Elevation (Leave the Skew at 0 or 90, whichever is ground level) Then move the dish to the general area of 119 until you get a Quality reading. Tweek your elevation to increase the Quality if needed. Once you get the strongest Quality possible, skew your dish to lock on 110.

Re: pointing dish?

Sounds like he has a Plus. He has one cable running from the LNB to the box. Still follow Apoc's instructions by using 119 as a focus and 110 will fall right into place with little or no dish adjustment

Re: pointing dish?

I had that same problem when I moved, and was told to cover the 110 LNB with aluminum foil, then lock onto 119. With your Ultra it'll tell you in the blue bar to the right of the words "Antenna Setup" which Sat you're picking up. It turns out I was picking up 119 with the 110 LNB, and it reacted the way you describe. Do as Apocalypse recommended and get a good lock on 119, then remove the foil and adjust skew to hit 110.

Good luck to you.
