motor questions and diseqc switch ??

i want to keep my stationary dish with 82, 91, 110 and 119 on it because thats what i use the most....now im installing a dish with a motor for FTA.....can i use a diseqc switch ???

assuming i can, where does it have to be placed??.....between the motor and the LNB??......or between the reciever and the motor???

also i see motors ranging in price from $50 to $150+.....is it really worth the money to get a better quality one??.....i live in cold climate and dont want it freezing up.....are the expensive ones alot better???

can the motors handle a 39 inch dish??

The better motors are for a bigger dish read on the motor what it is rated fore the 2100 is up to 90cm dish when I was looking for a motor the better motors are worth what you pay for them

Re: motor questions and diseqc switch ??

Sorry I bought a PM900S pansat motor and a 34 inch dish a 39 inch dish really needs a heavy duty motor like hh260 or hh280 or a good pansat motor they say there tuff that why I bought it guys say still running after 3 years use good record on this motor hope this helps Don't know what to tell you on the switch location because I 'm only using 1 dish maybe a problem if you put a L and C lnb on the big dish to change between the two and the other dishes but can be worked out some way

Re: motor questions and diseqc switch ??

A thought sw21 switch before the motor with the default side to the motor and the then lnb 2 to a 4x1 diseqe switch for the other sats so that may help with that I couldn't use a tone burst switch on my big dish 22khz caused a problem with motor or the motor caused a problem with the switch think the motor filtered out the tone for the switch worked about 50/50 on changing sw-21 before the motor and a 4x1 diseqe from the sw21 in the receiver to motor cable. Sound good on paper but will it work for you and us have to try and see keep in touch and I'll try to explain it better if I can Bye

You need to get a motor that would move a BUD just to be safe
