Scanning Satelites - Question

Hi There,

I have a few questions about scanning satelites......

I did a factory reset to remove everything on my system. I then performed a scan of echo 7 & 8. I found it odd that my signal & quality numbers were lower than with a loaded bin.

Anyway, I got all of my channels and loaded a BIN that works. My Q&S numbers went way up once I installed the bin.......

My question is, would it be better to do a factory reset, then install the new BIN , then set up my satelites and do a scan??

As far as channels go, are they always there when doing a scan??? Example, I had some NASCAR ticket channels before, but they don't seem to be there now. Are some channels only transmitting on days when programs will happen?? Are they always in the stream, but maybe just not showing any programs??

How do you know you have received all channels that you have scanned??

And finally, where are the channels names grabbed form??? If I go to the channel scection for the NHL channels, over half of them say MLB Extra Innings, even the program is a hockey game. There are some ohter channels that have incorrect names for what is actually showing on the programming. How can I correct this??

How do you know you have received all channels that you have scanned?? basiclly you can look at lyngsat .com and see if you are missing any channels but normally 275-300 channels for 119 and 330-360 channels on 110 and 400-420 channels on 91 depending on location for locals
