Re: should you get a CW3000HD?

crazyjoex, The one thing that no one has told you yet is that... The CW3000HD is the ONLY HD format receiver on the market that can run a FTA format, cardshare (rom102), or cardless prog's for dn or b3v! It is essentially the only HD cardshare box, and since Dreambox has been boasting for over 2 yrs about releasing a HD format... They have yet to do so ( **** shame too) but when they do it will be the ultimate! If you want a HD box to do it all the CW3000HD is the box to get. You will need to read, read, read, and read till your eyes bleed, but since you are PC savvy you should be OK. Just be patient, and maybe read Geno's Dreambox start guide which is a good linux guide and defintely read the startups on CW. The CW & DB both use linux, and are cardshare or cardless boxes! One thing about the Dreambox is though... You can run 1- rom102 for dn & 1 for b3v since it has 2 card slots and loop up to 10 boxes off 1 card. That is a plus about the Dreambox, and everyone knows that cardshare (plastic) is the most dependable free TV going.

So just read up on DB & CW if you want to be watching TV when FTA is down every 4 or 5 days for a day or so. I hate it because I have 3 FTA's running in the house here now with a NEW VS Pro * WD 320GB HD all NIB that I haven't messed with yet because while I was waiting on the WD HD to arrive I decided to go back into plastic so the Pro is for sale!

Good Luck with whatever you buy...
