I am a new guy in over my head. I have got as far as hooking up a Viewsat Ultra v2 to a DN 500 dish and a second DN dish for local channels. The 500 dish has a double LBN with one cable, both dishes have a cable going to a switch with 2 in connectors and one out. This is all dish equipment installed by dish. It all worked fine when I cancelled my subscription. I have scanned for channels and have 34 FTA some are blank. I am going slow trying not to screw up. I have not tried new bin files yet. My question is, I am using the VS factory antenna settings and receiving a modest amount of channels, am I on the right track? The terminology is making my head hurt. If I download a bin file does that include all files I need. I am in a fog with the terms bin, keys, firmware.
