I can't seem to get response to a request for help on how to post tickets, is there a trick to this, I do have a paid membership.

The Ticket Support option doesn't work. Post your question in the appropriate category and then by virtue of you signing up for Ticket based support, your questions will be answered first by the moderators. The administrator is working on updating the description of that option when you sign up for support. I have Ticket based support too and at first I was disappointed because I thought I would be able to post somewhere where no one but the moderators saw my questions so I wouldn't look dumb to the world. But what I found out is you never feel dumb with any question and everyone is so helpful... and you find out other things when you open up your question to everyone!

Yeh, the part of the site that does work as descibed is were your credit card gets debited for the service you don't get. There's a sucker born every minute, guess I'm one of them.

63ranchero, All the Mods and Site Helpers will answer Live Support Members questions first, don't get mad till you give us a chance. We are members just like you. The Mods and Site Helpers don't receive any type money for the hours we spend helping members here, this is a hobby for us. We wouldn't do this if we didn't enjoy helping people. The owner of this site stays very busy, it takes a lot of time to keep computers going and this site organized, and it's not free to the owner...

Wait a minute Ranchero... how can you say it doesn't work if you don't give the moderators a chance. You have Carpenter (who is a Super Moderator) replying within an hour of your last post asking you to just post your question and he would help. And you have JC7257 who is saying he will help too. Both of these guys have helped me tremendously get my testing up and going on a legacy system no less. I am now watching all the 119 and 110 channels and I couldn't have done it without the help of the moderators and helpers on this site. I believe it was about $100 bucks for the Tech Support for a year right? Would you rather pay that $100 per MONTH to Dish/Directv to get all the channels.... or a one time payment of $100 here (which averages out to less than $9 per MONTH) for the support here to watch those channels.

I think where you are coming from is that it was over a week and you didn't get any response about the first post on Ticket based support. What you have to remember about this site is that there is one person, the site owner, that handles the maintenance and any registration questions. The moderators are technical and answer your technical questions. They don't typically hang out at the "Registration" forum. So don't get caught up on not being able to use that Ticket Support screen. I gave you the answer to that one. Move on and look thru the different forums and pick the one that applies best to your question and ask your TECHNICAL questions in those forums. I'm sure you will see the value of that $100 you paid. In fact if you had of done that a week ago, you probably would be watching FTA right now. Good luck.

I understand about someone posting when they first sign up and can't figure out things and maybe getting a little upset, we all do that on occasion. But these people that don't take the time to read a little, don't do what people suggest in posts, want to be handheld.... and go on... and on.... and on.... whining about everything and posting complaints all over the forums are wasting a lot of everyone's time. And those are the same people that when they do find out answers don't give anything back to write posts to help other people. If I paid $100/month (which is about what DN charges for a total package withOUT PPV), sure I'd expect to pick up a phone and call an 800 number and get someone (however now most of the time those 800 numbers you can't understand the person because they all are in India).,.. but that's another story. Anyway, with the low amount we are paying to have access to files and information on this site to test TV where we view something that would cost us OVER $1200/year to do without the information here..... well... I just don't understand why they complain. Anything with a low cost requires willingness on the customer's part to be patient, read, and do some things themselves. If one isn't willing to do that, then they need to spend more to have someone to do it for them! I'm not picking on ranchero... I've seen a number of posts lately that fit the "chronic complainer" category and I'd rather spend my time on this site learning than hearing stupid complaints!

Ok guys, so you got your backs up, but from my end, I am new to this. I did go through the site and did not find the answers I needed, when I signed up it was not explained that I may have to wait a week for an answer because this was supported by volunteers, it was said that I could get an answer in minutes to a few hours.
Maybe if it was put up front how the site worked in an more clear manner, myself, and there are clearly others that have the same concern, would better understand how to use this service and what to expect from it. I do understand that now and maybe you guys should get a grip and move along as well, I meant not to personally offend anyone only was looking for answers and did not get them. I hope in the future that I will be able to help others but at the moment I am to fresh to this and can't help myself even.
Please lets stop this chatter and free this up for more productive use. Sorry again!
