You won't be able to use the remote or the face controls but that was an old problem and it is fixed now.

I love my ultra.Easy to operate ,great featuers ,very fast.The USB port on the receiver makes it so easy to download new info.

Ultra Issue! When delete many stations a one time the box locks! I than need to power off and it is ok! Is this problem commom?

Its not the VS-Ultra, The problem is with the program.I think its intemittent signal loss.This was address late last summer.This unit is a good unit.

I just got a viewsat ultra, and I love it, especially the usb port, makes it so much easier and faster to download bins. Also have pansat 3500s good too, just not as fast.

I have used the dreambox, pansat and now ultra and i'm disapointed that I can't read to the usb and redo my channel lineup to my specifications and I can't read or write thru the serial port, so that leaves the ultra not so good in my opinion because I like to name the channels to my likeing. I do have to say it works flawlessly other than those issues.

Soupy. If your running in to a freeze problem W/ your Ultra try this. before you edit your channels, go into menu, options, turn (off) auto tp, this will allow you to delete channels without receiver freezing up. Make sure once you edit channels and save, you go back to menu and turn Auto TP (ON)

Who told you you can't upload to your computer?
You need to have it connected to the TV and computer same time and upload all the files you need to your computer that way.

I'm new on this hobbie. I'm trying to do the set up step by step. When I think that I have it set up, I try to see any channel and the signal changes to the factory set up. I load up the USB stick with the fix file and still get the same result. I wonder if somebody can explain How to set up the ultra for dummies.

I never thought of connecting it to computer while connected to tv, I sold the ultra because of my stated problem with it. Can I personalise the channel lineup in channel master like I can with other fta's and load it back to the ultra without it messing up using that method? If so I will get another one.
