I am just a newbie; but i disagree that it is user error causing the problems. My Ultra was flashed with the early Feb BIN and all was fine. Then kaput it went just like the rest. From one channel change from a local channel to Cnn 200 on Dn. Went to autoroll and then nothin after i turned the stb off and then back on. I have checked twice and it is not a clone. Purchased from Viewsat online.

I am still not sure if we can blame all of the VS Ultra issue on users. I set mine up very well the first time. I only had questions about switches. Of cours I already ready relevant posts here which helped tremendously. What I dont understand is why the receiver will die after using it everyday for 5 days with no proble. We were watching a channel and suddenly it froze. Switched it off at the back and it will not come on again. I still like the convenience of VS Ultra but I am just wandering.........

Hello GrassHoper
HI MR. G.H. I am a new vip member in here. I just joined yesterday and I would like to ask you 3 questions. I have a viewsat ultra and I have echo 110 and 119 working fine. I have a dishpro500 and my questions is: Is there another satellite trasponder that I can scan? I see nimiq and all of this other satellites out there so I was just wondering if I could scan them without moving the dish so I can get more channels if that's possible. My second questions is what is the difference between a auto scan and a blind scan? Is one better than the other? Can I put a code or parental lock on the porn channels to prevent other family members from watching them?

Re: Ultra owners read here
Rsiu28 you are replying to a very old post. Why don't you open a new thread instead of replying to an existing one..??
This only creates a lot of confusion with the uses , specially in these times when we have had a lot of ECM's from D**h.
Please open a new thread and make your questions and you will see that there are a lot of users and mods that will be helping you.
Regarding your questions:
1.- You have to add another dish to be able to get another sat out there.
2.- Autoscan is recomended if you have a Viewsat. Blind scan is used in old receivers not these ones.
3.- You can a code to your receiver and it will prevent automatically your porn channels from being viewed by others. Please make sure you don't give the code to anyone.
You have to read , all questions are already answered in a lot of ways and posts in the Forum.
Regards....

Re: Ultra owners read here
I have two Ultra's and one Extrem and there all great receivers. The big advantage of the Ultra's is the USB port.

Guys,
I really appreciate some help for a newbie, I got vs2000 ultra, and today I got bell channels this morning and now I can't watch them. do I need another file to upgrade the receiver? and if I am not asking much, where to get those files?
I really appreciate anyone would give me a hand here.
