Ultra owners read here
just be careful there are alot reports of locked up ultras
1 there is no good fac file at this time ( so don't load one )
2 don't delete channells
3 don't do fac default
4 don't recieve guide and fill up 7 day epg
5 don't load channel list
6 don't load sat file
7 don't load opkey file
Do nothing but load pgm file and scan , anything else and there is a good chance you will have a 200.00 door stop . Problems should be fixed when a good factory file is released.
The reason I posted this was to hopefully save even1 box from being locked up . You will be able to do most of the things on the list and be OK , but boxs are being locked up when doing things . It just a warning just be careful and don't do anything not needed .

Only before load the bin try the las fact bin file and them load the las bin,I put a good sat and cha info in viewsat spanish area ,both are working without problems in my ultra,the last bin have good autoroll for BEV and DN

Jammin, the ultra is awesome, just follow carp, perez, and grasshopper around, don`t do anything to your ultra unless you see it in one of there threads.

It's not the receiver that gave you problems it's the user that gave the receiver problems. I have never had any problems with my Ultra even when I tried to burn it up using bad files. This machine no matter what I did to it bounced back and is working flawless. I wanted to help you with yours but you cut off communications with me and I don't find you to be a fair person after all the help you had received from us. So ELECTRA if you are just here to vent because you could not figure out your receiver then go ahead, but just don't be mean.
You are always welcome to our site and we will be here when you need us again.

You need to load the 118 factory file then the new bin file and you will be fine.

I don`t get it, there's two newbies here talkin trash about the ultra. They've both been here longer than me, I see by there posts, one has 16 posts, the other has 20, combined that's like 36. I`m thinkin that's about the number of posts it took me to get going with my ultra. So maybe, if you two guys put your heads together, OR JUST TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ALL THIS HELP. No matter how hard you try, no one here will give up helping

in my opinion the ultra is the best receiver im currecntly testing...i dint ask one question on how to set it up..i did it all just by ready and i have been running with out any problems for sevarl weeks now..like carp said its all USER ERROR...maybe you should try subscribing and you wont have any problems...this is a hobby

I didn't say Ultra was a bad box, I didn't have it working, after Carpenter1
helped me out, got it going it's awesome box, I like my CS, but Ultra is hard to beat, I don't down any Box, it's what ever one you like,

My ultra is working great now thanks to all you guys here. It took a bit to figure things out. With the new bins and the new fix. What can i say Im motorizes and am getting 61.5 right to 119 thats 6 birds what can I say Ultra is working good for me Thanks people.

Well I guess some people just don't have what it takes to be able to handle this hobby and they should just subscribe to the providers. Then they will have someone come and fix their systems if they have issues because they are paying them $100 a month for this service and we make nothing in helping folks and we still get crap.

Hello,
By "to load" do you mean unzip 118 ff and put it on a memory stick then attch to the ultra then hit the upgrade on the menu? or is this something you have to use the loader software on a winbox to do through the serial port? Does this apply to the bin file also?

Yes you can load the factory file with the USB stick and you do have to unzip it before you download it to the stick. And after the factory file you need to load the new Bin file the same way.

O.K., jammin. I`ll take you out of the "trash talk", but not electra. What I was trying to say, is that no one came in to this hobby as ignorant to not only FTA, but also computers. But even with no backround in any of these fields, the mods, senior & super, and helpers, hell, even other newbies got me going . NEVER gave up, NEVER a harsh word, or snide remark, So electra, it`s not your box, it`s not this site, it for sure isn`t the advice given here, WHAT COULD IT BE ??
